Sorry for not updating in a really long time. Just been crazy, but here is the chapter.

Lucifer waited until she had fallen asleep before calling Marie and asked her to bring the others with her. Carrying her to his bed, he frowned at how cold she was now. Her body temperature had gone below human normality. Removing her shoes and tucking her into bed, he stopped and stared at her. It seemed that the more she stayed by him, the more danger she ran. Leaning forward, he gave her a soft kiss. ‘This is last time. I promise.’

Walking out, he was confronted with everyone and when he said everyone…well it was everyone. Serving himself a drink, he took a seat on the sofa. Slowly nursing his drink.

Daniel huffed after a few seconds of silence. “Why have you called us back?”

Lucifer ignored the boy, turning his attention to his sister. “Mariel any chance that after the birth of Angelus, Chloe could have held some side affects?”

Mariel sighed, taking a seat beside him. “Let me guess she burning up again? Fever?”

“Oh, she’s burning up alright.” He chuckled sarcastically. “We were on the couch and as she touched me, she burned me. As fire would any moral skin.”

Mariel chuckled. “Relax Lucifer. Chloe is just suffering from side affects of the birth. Don’t know if you knew this, but humans were not meant to give birth to the devil’s child.”

Lucifer scoffed, rolling his eyes at her. “Well miracles do happen on occasion.”

Mariel scoffed, giving him a slight shove. “Have you thought of all that has been happening?”

“Like?” Lucifer asked. He knew what, but it was fun annoying his little sister.

“Well let’s start with Uriel and Gabriel. Then there is the thing with Mom and your deal with Dad. Angelus and his wings. Not to mention Chloe being a miracle child.” Mariel counted out with her fingers. Glancing up a Amenadiel she asked if she was missing anything.

Lucifer groaned. “Uriel is dead. Gabriel knows better than that. Coming here will be simply poking the devil that I am and getting burn. Mother, well if you want to draw in a psychotic goddess, you use what she wants the most as bait. She wants to go back home, well she and I know of only one thing that can let that happen. And what about Chloe?”

“Lucifer father put her in your path on purpose. For a reason. I would have thought you’d be interested in figuring what reason that would be.” She couldn’t help, but think what her father’s ultimate plan was in play.

“I will find out after all these other things are taken care of.” Lucifer said. “For now I just want to be absolutely sure that, this affect on Chloe will go away.”

Mariel shrugged, taking a seat beside him. “I can’t say for sure Lucifer. It seems to be like a defense mechanism. Anything that gets her blood boiling, with set it off.”

“Same way, Angelus protected his mother.” Maze added.

Lucifer sighed, the problems just seemed to keep piling up. Now to make matters worse, he can’t even have sex with her. “Alright look, take Amenadiel and see what you can find out about mother.”

“We have already tried that luci, it got us nowhere.” Amenadiel said.

Lucifer restrained himself from rolling his eyes again. His brother could be clueless at times. “I meant about her human life brother. Find out where she works, family and friends. If mother is hiding, that is where we will find her.”

Amenadiel sighed, but did not argue. “That is if she didn’t kill the woman’s family.”

“Non sense brother.” Lucifer waved it off, although he couldn’t help, but worry about it. “Not if she wishes to lay low for a while. Killing an entire family, will surely do the opposite.”

“Alright, Mariel let’s get going.” Bidding his brother a good bye, they took off.

Lucifer turned to the last ones left. “Daniel, seeing as how you have pledged your loyalty to me, I have a special task for you.”

Daniel quirked a brow. “What is it?”

“I need you to find Afriel for me. Find him and bring him to me.” Lucifer knew where his brother was and if Daniel was truly loyal to him, he would not be able to bring him back. “I have a few things I need to go over with him.”

Daniel frowned, but gave him a stiff nod. “As you ordered. I will bring him back for you.” With out another word he turned and vanished.

“I thought Afriel had gone back to the heavens?” Maze asked, to which Lucifer nodded. “Then wh-“ A sly smirk appearing on her lips as she caught on.

“And to show you I do appreciate you. I will give you the task of his punishment. Should he fail.” Lucifer chuckled.

Maze smirked, imagines of what she will do flooding her mind. It has been so long since she’s been able to punish anyone. Besides, after what Daniel told her about Chloe’s past, she needed him gone. “Lucifer?”

“Yes?”

“You remember that girl with Daniel?” She needed to tread lightly with this. “The one you had us kill.”
Lucifer nodded. “Yes. What about her?”

“Well she had the same affect on you as Chloe does. Right?”

Lucifer suddenly laughed. “Let me guess. Daniel has seen Chloe and thinks she is the one destine to be his. The one that will help him take me down once and for all. Allowing him path back to father. That because she is a miracle child, she is to ruin me and send me back to hell. Is that all or am I missing something?”

Maze stared at him stupidly. “You know?!”

“Maze, Daniel is cursed to see his beloved in the face of every miracle child. His punishment for choosing the girl over father. It just so happens this one is Chloe.” Standing from the couch, he made his way towards the demon. “Either way, keep him away from Chloe and the children. I want him no where near them. That includes his followers. Should he fail this task, you can deal with them all as you please.”

“Will do.”

Lucifer waved her off, walking back into the bedroom. He found Beatrice standing by Angelus crib. Walking towards her, he hesitantly placed a hand on her back. “What is it?”

“Nothing.”

It was now or never. “Beatrice we need to talk.”

“Okay.”

Kneeling down, he inhaled sharply. He wasn’t sure how to even begin this. “When you see Angelus, what do you see?”

Beatrice glanced at her baby brother and back at him. “A baby.”

“What else?”

“Wings.”

“Do you know why?”

Trixie paused for a moment, thinking over her response. “Because he is an angel.”

“Do you know why he is an angel?”

“Well all babies are angels.”

Lucifer sighed, this was going to be a little harder than he thought. “Well yes, but Angelus here is part angel.” All he got in response was doe eyes. “I was once an angel, before my father threw me out.”

Beatrice frowned. “If you were once an angel, then what are you now?”

“I am…” He stopped. How can you tell a child you are the devil. The one thing they have learned to always fear and hate. “You know what, let’s talk about this later. Why don’t we go out for some ice cream?”

“Okay.”

Giving Angelus and Chloe one last look, he followed the little offspring out of the room. He didn’t quiet understand, why it bothered him the thought of her being scared of him. But it just did. That simple thought of her not wanting him around or trying to get her sticky and prying hands around him, bugged him to no end. What was wrong with him?
