You looked down at your wrist, scanning the characters etched into your skin. 'Tetsurou Kuroo' it read.
Your eyes trailed over to where he sat, his messy bed hair covering his face. Butterflies immediately swarmed into your stomach as you stared, the itchy feeling swelling up in your wrist.
The annoying feeling made you quickly look away from him before tugging your sleeve over the marks on your skin, and the itch faded.
This was a world whereupon being born, the name of your soulmate was burned onto your skin and it could never be removed. When you first met your soulmate, your tattoo would glow and every time you looked at them, the mark would itch until you were both together.
You let out a loud sigh as you stared down at your blank page.
"And finally, y/n and Kuroo."
The teacher's voice snapped you out of your thoughts, your eyes widening in bewilderment as you looked back down at her page. Your fists clenched as possibilities ran through your head, fear sweeping through your body.
Oh no...
A warm smile greeted you as you lifted your head up, facing your new partner. "Hey," His voice was deep and buttery. "When should we work on this? I was thinking, my place tonight at six?"
You could hardly respond, your chest was tight and some of the butterflies swimming in your stomach decided to fly up into your brain. The irritable feeling began to swell in your wrist. Resisting the urge to itch your wrist, you managed a small nod, your hands quickly covering your warm cheeks, hiding the blush that tinted your cheeks.
Kuroo gave you a strange look before smiling again and walked off, your eyes following his every move.
How was I going to survive this?
Your hands were shaking as you reached for the door. You took a deep breath before knocking on Kuroo's door, averting your eyes immediately.
You heard hurried footsteps near the door, only making her heart thump faster. The door swung open, the light in the hallway highlighting your face.
"Hey." Kuroo greeted, a smile on his face as he panted slightly
"Um... hi?" You questioned, staring at the exhausted figure in front of you. "Let's just... get this started." You shoved the pieces of paper into Kuroo's chest, his smile turned into a frown.
