Stephanie swings her leg over the side of the house, and then the other before she climbs down the ladder. Her friends wait at the bottom of the ladder for her, making sure they're quit. Stephanie's parent's were in the living room watching a film while her older sister, Faith, was out at her boyfriend's. Since, Stephanie was grounded for sneaking out last week, she needed to sneak out so her parent's won't know she's gone.
She has snuck out so many times that she knows how to manipulate her parent's into thinking she was fast asleep. She was a pro at that. Faith always got to go out because she was older, out of High School and still living with her parent's that is. Stephanie was upset that her sister always got to go out and never get's in trouble for it, so she decided to be the opposite of her sister. Faith was the good kid while Stephanie was the trouble maker.
"Hurry, let's go." Ken, one of her friends, whispered. They began to sneak out of Stephanie's yard, making sure to be as quiet as a mouse. If Stephanie got caught again, she'd get her window's and door locked, while she had to sit in her room with no computer or phone, just a book. She don't need that, again.
Stephanie was in the eigth grade, while some of her friends were in ninth or the same grade as her. Her sister was out of school and in College. Stephanie get's treated the way she does because she is the youngest and her dad isn't Faith's dad. Faith's dad was a British man, which is why Faith talks like a English person, but their mom got a divorce with Faith's dad and married her dad, Richord.
"Where are we going?" Stephanie asked her friend Linda. Linda smirked at Stephanie and shrugged. There was Linda, Ken, Robert, Zach, Rose, and Miranda. Basically, the trouble maker's of their town.
The night winds blew Stephanie's hair back and out of her face. You could hear the rustle of the bushes as the wind blew through them. Stephanie and her friend's walk in silence to their destination.
"So, Miranda I heard you and Mark are a thing." Zach smirked, glancing at Stephanie in the corner of his eye. They knew Stephanie liked Mark, every since he came to Ohio.
"Yeah, Mark asked me out Wednesday and he asked me to be his girlfriend." Miranda giggled. Stephanie felt like crying, like just turning around and running back to cry all over her pillow. But, if she did they'd think she was a freak. Her group of friend's are weird.
"Well, we're here." Zach smirked at the old, worn down building. Stephanie gasped when she seen where they were at.
"The dead asylum? Are you crazy? I am not going in there." Stephanie panicked and began to walk away, but a hand gtabbed her elbow. She wipped her head to see that it was Zach.
"Why? Are you scared? Aw, little Stephi is scared!" Zach mocked and laughed at Stephanie, while the other's laughed as well. Stephanie rolled her eye's and jerked her arm from Zach.
"Don't call me that." Stephanie said through gritted teeth. Zach held his hand's up in surrender and laughed. Stephanie looked at the old, burnt, building that once stood. She had heard stories about this place, stories about a girl that burned the building.
"Coming?" Miranda nudged Stephanie. Stephanie hesitated but followed the group of kid's into the building. She and Miranda walked side by side into the building. Once they had entered the building, it immediately got more cold than it was outside. Stephanie shivered and began rubbing her hand's together to warm them up.
There was a desk when they walked in. There was a door about ten feet away from the desk, chairs covered the right side of the room. The door was barely open that an ant could fit through the space. Stephanie looked around the place. Black and gray ash covered the floor, along with other junk. The walls were black, burnt pictures hung from the wall and dead plants were sat under the pictures.
