The pretty girl walked to the mirror,
knowing what she'd see.
A face so pretty and perfect,
the true sight of beauty.
But when she took a glimpse,
she got quite a scare.
Her face was lit with flaws and she had unruly hair.
The girl screamed in horror and shattered the mirror apart.
She fled the room in such a rage,
it gave quite a start.
And then the plain-looking girl,
who was sitting all alone,
walked up to the pieces;
Where the mirror once shown.
She feared that her boring features would look even worse.
Dreadfully, she held up a piece to see the mirror's curse.
But instead of hideousness,
she saw a lovely sight.
Her hair fell so perfectly and her eyes were shining bright.
She briskly touched the frame and read the words inscribed,
"The only beauty that truly shows is a heart of gold inside."
