My name is Raven Valentine. My surname originated from some stupid muggle holiday because my adoptive parents didn't want me to have the same last name. I have no clue who my real parents are, but I will find out. My muggle adoptive sister goes to boarding school. She is just about as ruthless as me. Well as ruthless as a muggle can be. I attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Slytherin house and my best friend is Blaise Zabini. Pansy Parkinson is a brat, Draco is extremely stubborn but is still my other closest friend. I can't stand Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley and particularly Harry Potter. "Valentine! Snap out of it! Raven?" Blaise was trying to get my attention. "What?" I asked him.

"The train is here."

I looked around slightly flustered until I spotted Draco with –sigh- Pansy. "Ugh, he's with Her," I said pushing through the crowd, away from Draco.

"What's wrong with Pansy?" Blaise asked for the hundredth time. I opened my mouth to speak but Blaise spoke again. "Don't answer, I know what you'll say." I stepped onto the train and walked down to the last carriage where everyone else from Slytherin is. I found an empty compartment and sat down across from Blaise. "You know Draco doesn't like her," Blaise said, pulling out his wand and weaving it between his fingers. Suddenly, Draco walked in and Blaise moved to sit next to me. "Hey Draco," I said, completely ignoring Pansy.

"This year is going to be rubbish," Draco said tiredly.

"Well you don't have to put up with it for much longer, it is sixth year," Blaise comments and Draco simply nods. This is going to be a long trip.

Down the other end of the train

Dean Thomas and Seamus Finnigan are discussing Raven Valentine.

"I hope she's here," Seamus wondered rather dreamily.

"Of course she is idiot, this is a school," Dean remarked.

"Why would they put someone named Raven in Slytherin, she should be in Ravenclaw," Dean added to his earlier remark. Whenever Seamus brought up Raven, they always got onto this topic. "Nah, she should be in Gryffindor." Seamus said firmly. "I say she's definitely Slytherin." A voice said. Both heads swung to the door, were Raven Valentine was smiling a deadly smile and had her arms crossed across her chest. Her tall slender figure leaned gracefully against the door, her bright blonde hair fell across shoulders and her entrancing green eyes glared at the boys. "The hat picked Slytherin boys, and you know it's true." And with that Raven Valentin stalked back towards the Slytherin carriage.

"She was looking at me" Seamus muttered and Dean hit him on the arm with the daily profit.

Last carriage, Slytherin

I stepped back into the compartment still smiling at what I'd said to Seamus and Dean. Seamus was practically drooling. I sat down next to Blaise and almost hissed. Pansy was leaning against Draco's shoulder, eyes closed. "Pansy will want to hear this," I said briskly. She opened her eyes and sat up. I recounted what happened with Dean and Seamus. I commented on what Seamus said after I left, yes I had heard, and yes I'd known he liked me since 2nd year. Draco started laughing and Blaise grinned, Pansy rolled her eyes. "They were arguing over what house I should be in." Draco stopped laughing.

"What did they say?" he asked looking at me, grey eyes stared intently. "Dean said Ravenclaw," Blaise snorted, "And Seamus said... Gryffindor." Draco's eyes glowed as he stood up and pushed the door open. "Filthy Half-blood." I grabbed Draco's arm and pulled him back down. "Leave it, I dealt with them, besides, he was only saying it because he is so head over heels for me that he can't stand me in another house!" I battered my eyelashes. Draco sat down eyes blazing. "Change the topic," I whispered to Blaise. Blaise started talking about harry and that got Draco going, Draco started talking about Harry and Dumbledore. I said "Stop!" Draco looked at me and Pansy frowned. I pulled out my wand and pointed it at the door. "Colloportus." I muttered and the door, even though it had no lock, locked.

"You know that can be countered with Alohomora right?" Blaise asked.

"Yes I know, but if someone tries to get in we will know and can stop talking." I said and Draco smiled. Draco kept talking and Pansy was bobbing her head, God she was annoying. I wish I was alone with Draco, thankfully luck was on my side and Draco said, "Pansy, I'm thirsty..." he didn't even finish when she rushed over to the door. She tried to leave but was stopped by my locking spell. Blaise burst out laughing and I snorted. I still had my wand in my hand so I said, "Alohomora." Loud enough for Pansy to turn bright red and rush out the door. I turned to Blaise with a look that said 'follow her.' So with a sigh he left to follow Pansy Parkinson. The door slid shut and I put the spell back on it. I tossed my bright blond hair over my shoulder and straightened my robes. "Draco, what were you going to do to Seamus?" I asked carefully so I didn't sound defensive.

"I wasn't even going to Finnigan." He said.

"Yeah sure Malfoy." I said looking away.

"Why are you being so defensive? Do you fancy the Half-blood Valentine?" I rolled my eyes and leaned in closer. "He fancy's me Draco, I want to deal with Dean and Seamus." Draco nodded and we stared at each other. We were interrupted by Pansy trying to get in. I laughed and unlocked the door again. Pansy sat back down. "Here Draco." She said.

"Thanks Parkinson." Draco said taking the goblet but not drinking any. He took a sniff. "Love Potion." Draco said suddenly, he looked up at a sheepish looking Pansy. Pansy blushed and scurried out of the compartment. "Don't come back." I muttered. "Did you know about this Zabini?" Draco asked and Blaise shrugged. I was still muffling laughter. Draco was holding the goblet at arm's length like it would bite him. "Give it here." I said. Draco passed the goblet. I opened the door and placed it carefully on the other side of the door. Then I shut the door and locked it.

Pansy was walking back when she froze outside the door staring down at the goblet. She ran off in the other direction. I burst into laughter, Blaise smiled and Draco stared daggers at the silver goblet. "Of course you knew, Draco." I didn't mention how he used to lie with his head in her lap and she would stroke his hair. I wonder what it feels like to be worshiped. I didn't realise I'd spoken out loud until Draco looked at me Eyebrows raised. "Excuse me Valentine?" I shrugged, façade undamaged. "Hush Malfoy, don't dwell on it." My bright green eyes harsh. That stung him more than I thought it would. Draco looked away.

At Draco's request the common room was empty. Pansy was with us, Draco was lying with his head in her lap and it was infuriating, had he not heard what i'd said earlier? or is this his revenge at my comment? She stroked his beautiful blond hair and I lay on the other green couch and watched the fire. Blaise was in the great hall. Draco was still buzzing from breaking Harry's nose. He'd been watching us. Draco's nervous. He's going to become a death eater. He has the dark mark. Pansy had denied putting the love potion in so Draco agreed with her considering she had been loyal. "Draco." I said.

"Mmm?" he said as Pansy stroked.

"Pansy, go find Blaise." I said. She did a sort of grown up half snarl half pout. "Why Me?" I stared at her without blinking, gaze unmoving. She looked away and went to go find Blaise. "Draco." I said again. He had to sit up because Pansy was gone, he looked at me. "Draco." I said louder.

"What!?" he asked.

"The Dark Lord, You, Draco, the Dark Mark." Draco pulled back his sleeve and I didn't know how to react. There it was. "There's something else." I told Draco and he pulled his sleeve back up. I continued, "When I was walking back from Dean and Seamus I stopped next to the compartment Harry, Ron and Hermione were in." Draco raised his eyebrows. "Potter was saying that they saw you in Borgin and Burkes. Harry thinks, well, Harry thinks you're a Death Eater. Hermione disagreed. Harry was calling it an 'initiation'." Draco bristled but didn't respond.

"Well, Well." He said when Pansy returned with Blaise, Crabbe and Goyle. Pansy sat next to Draco and Crabbe and Goyle sat either side of me. "I'm going to bed." I said to everyone. "Coming Pansy?" I asked. She nodded and we left the boys alone in the common room.
