A lovely young lady woke up to the sun shining on her. Her tired eyes gave her an innocent look that would tempt anyone to hug her and just cherish her. Her long black hair cascaded down her back as she yawned, tiredly rubbing her sleepy blue eyes. Everything about her screamed 'naive!'
She looked out the window noticing something was wrong and sighed.
'I have school today yet I forgot to set my alarm. Just great... At least I woke up early, or else I would be late and Lily would probably get worried,' she smiled a little at the thought.
She got up, did her quiet time reading John 15:12- "This is my commandment, That ye love one another as I have loved you," went to take her bath, and wore her clothes for school.
She chose the corporate style and wore a smart white skirt with a peach-colored top.
"There, that's alright," she said as she checked herself in the mirror.
She picked up her phone and clicked on her chats to see a lot of unread messages sent mostly by Lily.
"Oh, Lily. I hope she isn't trying to kill me with so many messages. Did she send more than 30 messages in just how many minutes? Didn't she sleep at all?" She said under her breath as she checked the messages.
"I should probably send a message so she can calm down a little," she muttered helplessly as she started typing.
HER- Sorry. I didn't set my alarm before but don't worry, I will get to school soon.
She was about to put her phone in her pocket when it dinged. Lily had already replied.
LILY- Great! I can't wait to see you again!
HER- Girl, aren't you supposed to be at school already? You replied so fast.
LILY- I am in school but of course, I would reply fast. After all, you are the one who sent me the message. You know you are the most important person to me, after my parents~
HER- That's sweet but what about Adam and Shawn?
LILY- Yeah, I guess they are important too.
HER- That sounds so fake. If they saw this, they might feel sad~
LILY- They won't. Adam is too mature for that while Shawn is too cold. Tsk.
HER- Yeah, but still... they might feel a bit sad internally.
LILY- Right. By the way, that was me being sarcastic cause I don't believe that at all.
HER- Believe what you want to.
LILY- I don't care. Anyway, you know you are wasting precious time like this~
HER- Aren't you the one delaying me? Plus, you are usually happy to waste time texting me~
LILY- Yeah, but I will get to see you faster if we stop texting this time, so... Bye!
HER- Lol, bye.
She chuckled and finally kept her phone in her pocket, entering the kitchen downstairs.
"Good morning, Mom," she greeted with a warm smile as she hugged the back of a woman that was preparing breakfast.
The woman turned around as her brown silky hair swayed and she smiled at her daughter. Her pale blue eyes seemed like glass as they twinkled with affection. She gently patted the young lady hugging her with motherly affection.
"Morning my dear. How are you?" She asked as she brushed the girl's hair with her hand.
"I am good," the girl replied before releasing her mother from her hold and smiling. "So what's for breakfast?" She asked as she looked behind her mother's frame to check what her mom had made.
"Pancakes. There is syrup in the fridge in case you want that," her mom replied as she turned back to the frying pan and took the last pancake out, serving it on a plate.
"Delicious! Thanks, Mom, you are the best!" The girl exclaimed happily, kissing her mom on the cheek.
Her mom smiled as her whole aura screamed of elegance and grace. After all, she was a famous model, and her countenance was a regal one. On the other hand, her dad was a cold businessman, although he wasn't cold when with his family. His aura was always sharp and cold especially when at work and managed to make some men shiver in fear just by looking at them.
Their family is one of the top 5 richest people in which they ranked 3rd but they didn't flaunt it around as they hired few maids and butlers to clean the house.
By the way, our protagonist here is called Emily. Emily Williams.
"So, are you excited about school?" Her Mom asked, her pale blue eyes sparkling with happiness for her beloved daughter.
"Yes? I mean, this is my first day in 12th grade," Emily answered, somewhat excited.
"Well, you must take care and not let anyone bully you, ok?" Mrs. Williams cautioned in a motherly tone, concern, and care in her eyes.
"Mom, trust me. You don't need to worry. I have grown up, I am not a little child anymore," she answered with a little smile.
"Oh, darling! You are still my little angel~" Her mom cooed, pinching her cheeks.
"Mom, stop treating me like a child. I am 16 years old," she pouted, feeling aggrieved.
"Right, right. You are a big girl!" The beautiful woman said excitedly, behaving like a young girl. Her eyes spoke differently from her words as Emily was still a child in her eyes.
"What about Dad? Has he already gone to work?" Emily said, wanting to quickly change the subject as she knew her mom was very hard to convince.
"Yes. He had a contract to sign this morning so he left early."
"Oh! Ok. I wish him luck!"
"You know he doesn't need luck but I am sure he will be happy if it's from you," her mom said, rolling her eyes.
"That man really, he is trying to steal my precious daughter," her mom continued with a sad face.
"Mom, he is my father. Of course, he wants my love," Emily laughed as she watched her mother get jealous.
"But still... I am your mother. You love me more, right?" Her mom asked sweetly with a sly grin.
"Mom, no cheating. I love you both equally," she answered with a little smirk, trying to keep her laughter in check.
"But you still love me a little more, right?" Her mom asked wriggling her eyebrows, not giving up yet.
"Mom!" Emily laughed, her stomach almost hurting, "If dad hears you, he will be angry~" She continued with a wink.
"I don't care. He can be angry if he wants to. As long as you love me more, he can't do anything to me," her mom said playfully as they both laughed.
Her dad and mom might seem like nobles, untouchable and regal, when in public, but when with their precious daughter, they both behaved like children wanting attention.
"Ok, enough talking. You don't want to be late to school," her mom said as she gave the pancakes to Emily.
"Thank you, Mom," she smiled and sat down with her food.
After eating her breakfast, she gave her mom another peck on her cheek before entering her car to go to school. She was happy that in this country she could get her driver's license at the age of 16 or it would have been too much of an inconvenience for her to always have a driver take her to school and back.
She smiled and then started the car as she left the house.
"Something interesting is going to happen today. I can feel it."
