My dream had always been to gain admission into my dream university.

I heard a lot about college student and their adventures. I am not interested in the adventure, I just want to live a simple life and graduate with the best result.

My father would be so proud of me. He always had this dream of his, That one day I would serve my country as a graduate. My father's dreams not mine. I'd prefer adventures over education. I am an average student with bits of A's and B's here and there.

It's been a month since I received my admission letter. I still remember that day clearly. I had woken up as usual to the smell of pancakes and eggs, two things I don't like but my dad doesn't need to know that, I made sure to make him smile by telling him how good of a cook he is. I took my bath and head downstairs to see my dad on a call, I waited for him and he turned to greet me with a nod and a smile that made my day. He spoke for a while before he hung up and faced me. "i got good news for you" he said while approaching me "you just gained admission" his smile widened but I wasn't having it "what is it?" he asked in alarm

"you'd be alone when I leave" he smiled and gave me a pancake

"worry not about me but yourself. You have a whole lot of adventures ahead of you."

"but dad"

"oh please, you can satisfy both of us by schooling and becoming a graduate like I want and exploring your school and entertaining adventures like you want"

"yeah whatever dad. When do I leave?"

I made all preparations and registration for beginners and I had few more days to explore the new state, before lectures commence.

Ever since I arrived, I have been staying with my aunt, it would have been less Boring but her daughter who was the same age as me, was never at home.

She stayed in the school hostel. Fed up with just sitting around doing nothing, I took a cab to unec where my cousin resided. The hostels were large with 3 floors each building. Student pilling in and out, boys and girls holding, people reading under shades and all kinds of activities including a few surrounding a guy who did ball tricks. Going into the building I felt eyes on my back. If there's was anything I hated the most, it was attention, I walked in hastily and signed in my name for documenting purpose blah blah....

Two flight of stairs and few steps and strides and I was knocking on my cousin's door.

"Hey shuga what's good, I thought mum had locked you up with a padlock so you won't go out" she said with a sarcastic smile. If only I had a sense of humor, it would have been funny.

She was one of the people who got to see the soft side of me, long ago we were as close as five and six, shit happened and the relocated to another state, our relationship became Rocky and all but we are cool.

She stood in her six feet two inches height, a blue Dora the explorer top. How funny she claims to dislike the cartoon character Dora who goes on shitty adventures. A blue shirt jeans just below her knee and a black wool slippers. Her hair was left undone and her face looked fifteen minutes to shut down.

"How are you doing?" I ignore her first statement and walked inside.

The room was small with three bunks for each student, there was a carpet of yellow flowers designs and blue background on the floor and the walls were painted blue with pink hand designs. you could guess just how old those paints have stayed on the wall based on how faded they looked. Designes and posters raging from artistes to celebrities were scattered all around the walls. A reading desk and chair, four cupboards and one ironing desk stood at a corner of the room.
