I just got a phone call from Tiffany, saying she was on her way to my house to pick me up for school. I would have declined but I have a test this morning and taxi drivers are on strike.

"Thanks for offering to pick me up today" I said as soon as i entered the car. "Do you all own  cars of your own?"

"Yes we all do, we bought our cars the same day. Our parents were friends from little and they passed the friendship to us, we all attended the same elementary and secondary school together. Our parents wanted us to live a normal life so they sent us here for college"

"Wow, that's nice. Inherited friendship"

"Why is lil not here?"

"She went out with Chris yesterday and didn't return."

"Do you mind going out with me after school today?" She asked me.

"No I don't mind" she smiled and pulled up in front of my faculty

" I will see you after class. Bye."

I walked inside the class and went to my usual spot to sit, when I saw someone sitting there. And the only available spot was with damian.

I walked up to him  and sat down.

"Hey, in order to sit here, you would have to go inside. I prefer to sit at the edge." I stood up and he came out. I sat there listening and jotting important things

"How do you right so fast?" Joe who was sitting by my left asked.

"I am used to writing, so it's not a problem" he nods and plugs in his airpods "why aren't you writing?" I asked.

"None of your business". Grumpy.

"Hey you over there, the guy on black with airpods" the class turned back to look at joe, some looked at me with disgust while some gushing about joe "I need you to stand up and tell the class what scale of preference means" the lecturer said.

The lecturer didn't recognize  the boys or just didn't want to acknowledge who they were. Whoever this man is has a lot of guts."I don't have any idea of what that means" he replied standing up. His demeanor was so calm and I overheard many girls whispering at the back. Some offered to help him out but being Joe, they were ignored.

"Remain standing" the lecturer said. "So who would like to help the young man over there?" there was fidgeting as girls raised up their hands to show off.

"Why don't we give his girlfriend a chance" the lecturer said looking at me "stand up young lady and define scale of preference".

"And the fun begins" lil and Ray said. Ray looked at lil and winked.

"Scale of preference can be defined as alignment of needs in order of importance. Starting from the most important to the least important." I said.

"So what is opportunity cost?" He asked again.

"Opportunity cost is a forgone good in order to attend to other needs for example if I need a book and a plate of food and each of them cost 300  and I have just 300. If I choose to buy the food then the book becomes the opportunity cost" I answered proudly.

"So if you decide to face your studies or chasing boys? because you can only satisfy one purpose at a time what will be your opportunity cost?" Few girls snickered and some whispered foregoing their studies.

"Excuse me!! " I said.

"You are excused, but you must answer my question or I will make sure you fail this course".

"I will choose my studies over boys. So chasing boys is the opportunity cost" I said gritting my teeth. The lecturer smiled and asked me to sit.

"Can I ask you a question sir" I said. Still standing.
