I roamed across the rooftops smiling over the city. I loved this city so much. I sighed happily sitting at the top of the Eiffel Tower.
"Hey chat" I glanced up smiling
"Hey ladybug. What are you doing up this late?" She smiled nervously
"Uhm well... uh..." I chuckled softly
"You're stuttering. That never happens. What's up?" She sighed and came sitting beside me
"I saw you leaving today after the fight" she said softly "did... did you see me and viperion de transform? Do you know our identities?" I frowned
"Is that why you came out here?" She bit her lip looking up at me sheepishly. I sighed
"I'm not going to lie to you, I didn't see you guys detransform, but I do know your identities." I saw her go ridged.
"How..." I smiled innocently
"I know you in our civilian lives. I figured it out." She nodded slowly looking down
"You've figured it out... how many other people..." I shook my head
"It wasn't easy. I doubt anyone else has." She sighed and covered her face with her hands
"Chat... too many people know my identity now... maybe I should-"
"No" I said flatly. She looked up at me
"You don't even know what I was going to say."
"Yes I do" I said turning to look down at her "you were going to say you should give up your miraculous. But, my answer is no. Yes there are dangers, but you have to trust us. We need you, we need ladybug. We need Marinette." She looked up at me tears in her eyes
"No one needs Marinette..." she whispered wrapping her arms around herself.
"Stop that" I said putting a hand on her shoulder "Marinette is ladybug. You are the same girl, just with a superpower. Your problem solving? Your bravery? Your ability to lead? That's all Marinette. Ladybug just has the lucky charm. The final piece to the puzzle. It's still Marinette piecing it together." She sniffed and smiled slightly at me
"You know, luka said something very similar earlier tonight" she said softly wiping her tears away. She sighed softly "Alright, I'll trust you guys. I mean, you've all earned it."
I smiled leaning back.
"I'm glad you feel better about that" I smiled up at the moon before glancing over at her "don't you want to know my identity?" I couldn't help but ask. I was kind of scared she'd say yes, and then be mad at me for being well... me. She giggled
"That's alright kitty. You don't have to. I can see the fear in your eyes. I don't care who you are, whatever scares you I'm sure it's nothing." She smiled and stood "I should go though. It's late and I have school" she smiled down at me " I'm assuming I'll see you" she teased before swinging off. I chuckled shaking my head. She never ceased to surprise me.
