The sun shines down
The ice melts
As temperatures rise
Fossils burn
As we live out
Our daily lives
Polar bears have no home
Fish can no longer swim
Turtles are throttled
We live in a land of beauty
With exotic creatures
And fascinating flora
A land of love and prosperity
Or so it was
The beauty has begun to fade
The exotic creatures have started to diminish
The fascinating flora
Has turned brown and limp
And we are to blame
As all that makes our world cherishable
Drains away
We live with
Fancy cars and stylish houses
Thinking only of our immediate gain
Led by greed
We ignore all the warnings
Because it is considered
Weak-hearted
To save our planet
So now I ask of you
As you read my words
Why do I raise this issue?
Why do I go against society
To restore the land to what it was?
Why don’t you?
