*So this poem, as well as the last 4 chapters, have all been for a school assignment. I chose to do poetry, and we had to choose at least one of three topics (I did all three): Asia and Australia's involvement with Asia, Sustainability, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories. Just a little bit of info on why I wrote these poems.
Alienated cultures
Born native to these lands
Captured by the boats
Deemed inferior when compared
Envious of their country
Ferocious war we waged
Heroic deaths they gave
Invading tribal places
Javelins came our way
Knowing we held power
Last hopes were swept awry
Malicious were our armies
Neither side would surrender
Oaths sworn only to be broken
Pledges we couldn’t keep
Quarrelsome debates about the future
Raids to slaughter the weak
Should we kill the natives?
Take away their children
Until they’re bred pure Caucasian
Vanquish, the English did
White Australia enslaved the coloured
Xmas became tradition
Youthful was our nation
Zero rights we gave our people, whose tribal homes we took
