I had finally gotten my results, but I chose to not open the document until I arrived at the orphanage, where I had spent a great portion of my life at. Making my way to the exit, I noticed a girl with bright purple hair, tied in a ponytail. The color of hair was not what caught my attention, rather the familiar look of despair she had drawn across her. I've seen that look so many times, but there was something more tragic about the look on hers. I admit, I was intrigued by it.
Being quite antisocial and avoiding as much human contact I could, I started heading towards the exit. But maybe it was fate for us to be involved together since I had now found myself under her. Something that could've have been easily avoided if I had not chosen to break her fall when I noticed her slipping.
I didn't know why I did something like that but I refused to give it much thought.
¨Sorry sir , are you alright?¨
She instantly asked me when we got up. I was honestly quite shocked that this girl would consider me old already when in fact, I was just nineteen.
¨I'm fine actually, don't worry about it," I answered her as I picked up my document and starting heading towards the exit.
Finally, I was out of the hospital and the fresh breeze greeted my ill looking face. My head slightly tilted, looking through the clear, glass doors I had just exited. Sure enough, she wasn't there anymore and all I had left was an intense pain and the memories of such encounter. I honestly did not want to be involved with such a person again.
