The anxious looks the man in charge of the orphanage and his wife were giving me, was honestly making me quesy. They knew about my condition and held on to the idea of me being able to live longer. I had the envelope in my pocket and I slowly took it out when I had entered my room with them as well. They were there with me, eagerly awaiting me to open it. I kind of felt bad for them, they had hope and I had none. I wouldn't be surprised if it said I had a month or even a week left to live, I was honestly shocked that I had made it to nineteen.

As I Finally had it in my hand, my already pale face, turned into a dreadful sight as I saw something that sucked the living life out of me. The front read:

Ember Rose

Ao Northern Hospital

A sudden wave of the prior moments, before returning home, struck me. I took her document instead of mines. This suddenly felt like a situation I would read about only in Mangas and not expect to happen in reality. Surely, if felt like I wasn't meant to even know the length of my lifespan. As I stood there, staring at that paper and the name on it, it felt like the whole universe was against me, or rather protecting me from knowing the results. Either way,it didn't matter since all I had was an envelope that wasn't even mine, and an unsettling feeling.

After explaining all that happened to Mrs. Johnson, i noticed the tense look on her face. I didn't feel good to see her like this but there was nothing I could do. This girl, a complete stranger, whose encounter just ended up bringing misfortune in my life, could be anywhere at this moment. I wasn't entirely enraged at our meeting, but all I could think of at the time; was how I would have known my results by now if it wasn't for her.

Even though those results were not important to me, knowing I would still end up dying sooner or later; tomorrow or at that very moment, a part of me was longing to know how many more days I would wake up to see the sun and going to bed with the stars and moon. Maybe I didn't want to die just yet, I was honestly caught in a crossfire of utter confusion and frustration.
