(Scott's POV)
I kept staring out the window, hoping that she was ok.

"STOP!" Kirstie yelled. We came to a quick halt and she ran out. She crept up behind someone and punched them to the ground.

"Kirstie what are you doing!" I yelled getting out of the car, then I noticed the face. It was Tegan. I ran over and pushed Tegan into a dark alleyway. Everyone came with me, but she was grinning.

"I'm going to guess you got the message?" She said. I held her by the throat ready to kill her, but Kevin held me back.

"Where is she?" I shouted.

"See, what's in it for me?" She asked. I punched her in the stomach.

"Hey, what was that for!?" She shouted. Kevin pushed me away and punched Tegan on the face, we were shocked. Kevin just punched someone!

"Fine she is in the nearest warehouse, better hurry!" And she ran off. I started to run as fast as I could. I got to the building and it smelled of burning. Everyone else got there just after me. Kirstie tried the door and then tried to kick it in, but couldn't. Then Avi tried, he couldn't do it. Then Kevin but he couldn't either. I tried and heard a crack. So I did it again and a burst of smoke came rushing out. We all stepped to the side.

"How are we getting in?" Kirstie asked. Everyone started to panic but me. I took Mitch's scarf and tied it around my nose and mouth. I ran straight forward as fast as I could dogging the fire. I then reached a part with no fire but a lot of smoke. I heard coughing.

"Annabeth!" I shouted through the scarf. No answer only coughing. I kneeled down and started to search through the smoke. I then felt a hand and traced it back to Annabeth, curled in a ball, with blood all around her. I took my vest top off and put it around her mouth and nose. I was to warm anyway. Then the building started to collapse on us.

"Annabeth hold on!" I shouted over the crumbling noise and loud roaring of the fire. I picked her up bridal style and started to go back the way I came, but the exit was blocked. Annabeth opened her eyes slightly. I looked down at her, but they just shut again. I could see her chest lift slightly then fall quickly. I have to get her out of here. I ran back to the place I found her, and looked around. I yelled for help. Then I noticed another door, I ran to it and it was a bathroom, smoke filled the room, but it was escaping. I could feel my legs start to weaken, and I started to cough. I put Annabeth down slowly and felt around for a window. And there was one. I slipped Annabeth out first but was still holding onto her and then I got out. BOOM! The building crashed down. I heard Kirstie screaming and crying. I carried Annabeth bridal style again around the corner.

"Help!" I tried to yell, but it was sore to talk. I then fell to the ground with Annabeth. Then Avi came around the corner with a paramedic crew. They carried me and Annabeth to an ambulance. Since there were two of us, we could only have one more person in with us. Kirstie came in wiping her tears away and holding both of our hands. I looked over. Annabeth was lying there, lifeless! She didn't move once, I couldn't even see her chest move up and down. I had an oxygen mask on, so did she. We got to the hospital and we were split up. I sat up in the room, and started to breath normally again, but it still kind of hurt to speak. Everyone came in, I looked for Annabeth but she wasn't with them.

'Where's Annabeth?' I wrote down on a board.

"We're not allowed to see her yet!" Kirstie said sitting on my bed. I hugged her and everyone else.

"You need to think about yourself right now Mr Hoying!" The doctor said.

'I can't' I wrote on the board.

"My Hoying, I'm checking your chart and it looks like you have to use that board for the next few hours but you can go!"He said leaving the room. I got up and got changed into clothes that Kevin brought me. I then walked out to the waiting area and sat down. No one said a word.

"Annabeth Fare!" Someone said after three hours of waiting. I stood up straight away. "Please come this way!" The nurse said walking away. We all followed. Then came to this room, with a window showing inside. Annabeth was lying there straight with a black eye, sling on her arm and a bandage around her leg.

"Is she all right?" I asked quickly. I could speak again because we waited so long, my voice felt better.

"Well it looks like, she has a knife wound two inches deep, so not life threatening. A dislocated shoulder and black eye plus a burst lip!" He said.

"But she will recover, you can go in and see her but only one at a time please." He said and walked away. Kirstie went in first. She knelt down beside her and shook her gently. She woke up breathing heavily. They muttered, well that's all I could see because there was no sound. Kirstie burst into tears and came out. It was then Mitch, Avi and then Kevin. They all came out in tears, but Annabeth didn't cry once. I was last and I walked in. Everything was silent.

"Annabeth!" I said walking over.

"Scott!" She said, I could see her try to get up, but I held her down. I could see her tearing up. I bent down and hugged her. She put one arm around me.

"I love you!" She muttered in my ear.

"I love you too!" I said kissing her cheek.

"I can just remember waking up and you were standing there holding me with fire all around you, not caring!" She said. I tried not to cry, but I let one tear out and they all followed.

"It's because of you that I'm still here, I can't even thank you enough!" She said and sat up. Gritting her teeth because of the pain.

"It wasn't just me, everyone else helped as well!" I said.

"I know, but they didn't come into a fire to save me." She said. "What about you, did you get hurt?"

"I just hurt my voice a bit, but it's fine now!" I said.

"Your voice can you still sing?" I completely forgot about my singing. Then I did a few notes, I think it sounded ok.

"How was that?" I asked.

"Perfect, if you'd lost your voice, I would have killed myself!" She said.

"What date is it?" She asked, I checked my phone and it was the 15th, her birthday is the 22nd!

"Ehhh, 15th" I said.

"When can I get out of here?" She asked. I walked out the room saying that I would be back in two minutes.

"Doctor!" I said calling on him.

"Yes?" He asked.

"When can she get out of here?" I asked, he checked some paper and looked up.

"Now, but the only problem is she has to go back to a hospital in six weeks for the arm. And we would need to teach you how to change the bandage!"

"You can teach me and Annabeth!" I said. And he walked back with me, shutting the curtain, when we got in the room.

"Miss Fare, I'm just going to teach you and Scott how to change this bandage!" He showed us and it wasn't difficult, he then gave me lots of bandages, cream and wipes, for hygiene reasons! I then let Kirstie get Annabeth into a skirt and top. We got a wheelchair for her, so I pushed her onto the bus. I looked at the time and it was twelve at night! We were travelling over night again and I was so tired. I made sure that Annabeth was comfortable in bed. And I then climbed into the compartment above her.

"Night!" I said turning over.

"Night!" She said yawning.
