Opening the screen to her aunt's home Ryan smiled from ear to ear at the sight of her family pulling up. These two people made her happy and she didn't care what anyone thought about it.

" Hey, baby!" Ryan spoke as she picked up her daughter showering her with kisses. Looking up at her boyfriend Boo was taller than her but not a tall man by far she puckered her lips for him to kiss her. Upon first glance, one would easily mistake him for a pretty boy but the shifty movement of his eyes where an easy giveaway that he wasn't to be trusted. He wore his hair natural at the top with a fade on the side. Boo had skin the color of light maple and teeth that were a pristine white. He looked like he would ruin your life but Ryan was blinded to all of that. Leaning down He kissed her back scooping her close to him by her waist.

"What's up? you good." He finally spoke to her pulling back and racking his eyes up and down her body.

Licking her bottom lip Ryan thought it was strange that she tasted a hint of strawberry on her lip with a sticky residue.

"Yeah, I'm fine. What you been doing eating candy?"

"Nah what you talking about ?"

'Your lips taste like strawberry lip gloss." She asked him casually Ryan wasn't one to suspect things. Boo always had s good explanation.

"Huh? O uhh I must have drunk a soda or something anyway where is your sister at ?" He said walking around the corner into the kitchen.

Shrugging off his explanation Ryan looked over her daughter who was clad in the same pajamas she'd had on the night before. Boo was supposed to get her up and take her to her dentist appointment but from the looks of it, he didn't bother to get her dressed at all. Boo was a good man to her but his laziness could be draining sometimes.

"Yeah, she 's back there getting her hair done."

"What's up, Auntie! Good to see you, Lou, how does it feel to be back home?" Boo questioned walking into the kitchen and opening the refrigerator.

"It's Ms. Irene boy and get your nasty hands out of my fridge."Irene chastised

"O shit my fault ." He laughed getting a bottle of water.

"Crispus," Lucy spoke coldly eyeing him suspiciously.

"It's Boo. "

"Crispus is on your birth certificate therefore Crispus is what it shall be."

"I see all these year prisons didn't fix your personality."

"I see while I was in prison you didn't grow. Isn't 5'8" a little small for a man."

"I'm 5' 10" bit...."

"Anyway let me introduce you to my baby ." Ryan interrupted bringing her daughter over to Lucy. Looking down at her niece she felt like all the bad things she had done in the world were forgiven. Holding her niece she knew she had to be better for her.

The party Ryan insisted she have was in full swing as the smell of pork permeated from the grill. The entire front yard was filled with people wishing her success. To the left of her where her cousin Chloe and best friend Gisselle together they once called themselves the Money Mafia. In the life, Lucy had lived before those two had been an extension of her. They had been a part of any illegal move she made in either one way or another.

"So now that you are back please tell me that we can start back working in the streets. If I have to teach another day in that school I'm going to slap somebody's child. I know they are supposed to be the minds of the future but I honestly can not tolerate them anymore. I will be so glad when I can be a drug dealer again." Gisele exclaimed rubbing her temples. Since Lucy had gotten locke to dup she had resorted to his degree to pay his bills. Gisselle had always had a thing for the finer things in life got a thrill out of doing illegal things to obtain them. Just like Lucy, she got a thrill out of doing illegal things.

" You wouldn't have to still be teaching those crumb snatchers if you would just come work at the club with me," Chloe responded causing Gisselle to raise her pristinely arched brow toward her.

"Not everybody has been blessed like you to have the curves of a winding road. Some of us are more petite in build, therefore, I respectfully decline." She told her rubbing down her slim model-like form.

"I don't want to disappoint you guys but I'm done with that life," Lucy said finally interrupting the banter between her two friends.
'What you mean done?" Chloe asked surprised.

"Like I'm not getting locked up for nobody again. All the shit we did and I still end up on my sister's couch in the middle of the hood."

"I gotta go back to work tomorrow?" Gisselle asked

"That's not up to me but if you waiting for me then yeah. I wasn't in Ryans' house five minutes before my P.O. called. If I even touch a drug again they will lock me up."

"As an adult and your friend, I respect your choice. As somebody that knows that you need the game just as much as it needs you I can't support it." Gisselle spoke as she stood to walk away.

" Lou I get it completely and you know I'm going to ride for you whether you selling dime bags or coke. I did six months and county so I can't imagine what you went through." Chloe said with a smile.

Responding only with a head nod Lucy looked across the yard her attention being drawn to the black BMW that pulled up. Squinting her eyes she attempted to see through the dark tint but her attempt was fruitless.

"Who that ?" She asked pointing to the car as Gisselle made her way back towards them.

"Will you believe us if we say we don't know?" Chloe asked knowing how Lucy felt about the driver of the vehicle.

"It's Jah girl...." Gisselle blurted receiving and cross look from Chloe.

"What he gotta get out the car eventually anyway." He retorted shrugging his shoulders.

"RYAN!!" She yelled out to her sister that sat at a picnic table not far from them.

"Huh?" Ryan responded looking as if she was lost.

"Is that Jah?" She asked her sister not moving her eyes from the flashy vehicle.

Lucy knew she would have to face him sooner or later but she had all intentions of it being later. Emotionally she wasn't sure if she was prepared to be face to face with the man that had been a force within her life.

"I told him that today wouldn't be a good time to come ." Ryan attempted to defend herself as Jah stepped out of the car and walked towards her.

"Why don't I believe you?"

Looking at him Lucy still approved of how handsome he was. Jah was the human personification of a lion. His energy was strong and powerful making anyone else cower in his presence. He was the color of golden honey and had a tall sleek build. Parts of Lucy's body came alive at the scent of his cologne.

" She's telling the truth she told me not to come but I really needed to see you," Jah spoke the rasp of his voice causing her pulse to increase.

"Well I don't want to see you I want you to leave," Lucy responded in a voice that she didn't trust.

"You haven't seen me in years. Is that what you want?"

Reaching his hand out he grabbed hers intertwining their fingers and looking into her eyes. Their pupils danced together holding a conversation of their own. Lucy felt her heartbeat when it synced to his causing the anger within her to boil.

"I want it just as much as you didn't want me." She said pulling her hand away from him. As the two reunited a small crowd began to surround them of onlookers that reminisced on the past.

"I never didn't want you."

Raising her hand Lucy slapped him with all of her might. She didn't want to hear anything else he was going to say. Lucy knew that Jah had a way of working himself into her brain and making her see things his way. Given enough time he could convince her that the sky was green and the earth was flat.

Rubbing the sting of his jaw Jah knew he had earnedthe slap and, much more. He knew that his infidelity had played a role in her hatred towards himbut living without her wasn't something he would willingly accept. Eyeing herup and down he admired her body silently. Satisfied with the way his eyes madeher nervous he licked his bottom lip turning to walk to his car
