All of my life I've tried to avoid violent confrontation. Yes, I mean fighting. I have been in a fight or two, but I was a little girl and they were cat fights with petty Harrington girls. The last fight I had was when I was a 134 pound 10 year old with a 90 pound 11 year old. The fight was...Let's just say my 4 days suspension from school consisted of my parents lecturing me on how putting other people in the hospital is for brutes, and that I should have reacted differently. I know the damage that can be done when it comes to me fighting, so I try to avoid it.
"What the hell was your sneaky ass in there doing Jayquan?!" The obviously upset girl yells.
"Aye look, watch your mouth when you talking to me shawty I already told you about that" Jayquan replies in a calm tone.
"Answer my damn question before I turn up in this damn center! What was y'all in here doing?!" The girls shouts back at him. I can't do anything but stand here looking back and forth at the two.
"We wasn't doing shit! You not even my girl so I don't know why you trippin" he says back to her. This time with anger in his voice.
"I'm not your girl but you wasn't saying that when you was inside of me last night!"
"You right, I wasn't saying shit but you was saying a whole lot. 'Oh fuck me!' 'Yea right there daddy' 'don't stop" Jayquan says to her.
"Why the fuck are you putting my business out there in front of wack ass Miley Cyrus?! You will never get this pussy again!" She yells, which makes my eyebrows furrow. I'm tired of people calling me Miley.
"Don't call me anything other than my name, it's Lydia by the way. " I say forcefully.
"Whatever bitch you need to shut up and learn to leave our men alone!" She says to me. I ignore the fact that she called me out of my name regarding the fact that she's pulling the race card.
"This has nothing to do with race all-"
"I thought I told you to shut up" She interrupts me.
"And I thought I told you to stop-"
"Look everybody shut the fuck up! Mariah you need to leave. Now. " Jayquan interrupts me while yelling at the both of us.
With her watering eyes, she turns to leave but not before saying "You gon regret hurting me the way you do Jay." She then runs out.
All I wanted to do was get the naptkins from the supply closet for Ms. Martha, Nadine's grandmother. But no, every time I want to do something the opposite happens. I walk into the closet to find Jayquan pumping air into basketballs. I quickly grabbed the naptkins, but he stopped me and asked for a hug and of course I relentlessly gave him one. Then the girl Mariah came in and got angry at the sight of us hugging. The rest is history, now here we are.
"Sorry about her she's nuts." Jayquan says.
"It's fine I guess, it's not your fault that your girlfriend nearly pounced on my head." I reply.
"What would you have done if she did get in that ass?"
"I would've got in hers right back. I'm no punk"
"I hear that gangsta"
"That's my middle name" my dumbass says. Why did I say that? Ugh it was so lame, so I add "What's the deal with you two anyway? "
"She used to be my girl, but we broke up."
"And now you're fuck buddies. "
He laughs at my remark, which might I add, is music to my ears.
