Brandon sat quietly at his desk, his pen working and writing away on the guild's paper work. He had been there since early morning to try and get this done, the world had deafened on his ears and his focus was only on the work in front of him. He wasn't really expecting anyone to come in.
Boat enters through the top entrance, his mind completely distracted by his thoughts. He knew this would be his second S class mission and both Guildmasters told him not to do more than one a day but he really wanted to do more. He was tired but chose not to show it.
Brandon's hand came to an abrupt stop, his mind suddenly jogging back to reality. He heard footsteps.
He didn't even have to raise his head to know who it was.
Soon enough, Brandon was no longer in his office seat. In a flash (as his twin would say-) he was leaning on a wall near the job board. Staring the new S class wizard down. "May I ask what you are doing exactly?" Brandon's monotonous voice inquired, his neutral deadpan directed at Boat.
Boat blinks and panic sets in fast. "N-nothing I was lost in thought after you know doing a mission, and I came here.." he tried to think fast and get a quick response, " too.... give you the report." He let's out a nervous laugh.
...Brandon's eyes narrowed down on Boat's figure, like he could see right through him. He didn't look like he believed it.
"And your first thought would be to go to the request board instead of my office to give a report?" He asked, raising an eyebrow as he glanced to said request board before looking back at the boy.
Boat laughs softly and looks everywhere but at Brandon. He didn't want to anger the much larger male, but he did want to do an another job. Then an Idea came to mind. "I was lost in thought as I said. I automatically went there. Sorry, but I did take care of the dark guild Lackeys problem downtown. They were easy, but left a message that kinda confused me."
He tried to change the subject and decided to try to get Brandon away from the area before doing an another job.
You see, Brandon was no idiot, despite being called an 'airhead' because of his magic ( -cough- nickname given by David -cough-). He, see's things.
"Oh really?" He replied, deciding to lean off the wall and instead cross his arms over his chest. He didn't look mad, he just had an unreadable expression on his face. "Interesting. I'm sure Ritchie would like to hear about this as well." And that was the truth, he was intrigued about said message... but first. "I'm glad you listened to what we said, discipline is very important." He hinted.
Boat slowly nods having a bad feeling come over him. He tried to ignore it but from being seen though he bites his lip. "Yeah..... Should I tell you now or wait for Ritchie?"
Anyone could tell Boat was uncomfortable right now by the Guildmaster's presence, but He tried to not seem like he was scared. 'If I can come back at night then... maybe I can do an another job. I don't need sleep. Mario doesn't sleep much, so I can do it too. Just need to get out of here now...'
Brandon did nothing to make himself less intimidating, this was just how he normally acts. Ehhh the kid'll get used to it. "We should probably wait for Ritchie." He answered, glancing out towards the balcony to see the sky.
He was quiet for a moment, air a bit tense, body still, and eyes unblinking. Until, he chimed in: "Discipline is just as important as your well-being. If not more." Brandon slowly turned to Boat, and there was something, hidden, persay behind his blank eyes. Was it, just a tiny bit of concern? "There's a reason we tell you not to go on more than one S class mission per day."
Boat was thrown off the the small amount of emotion. His mind goes back into itself. Every thought seemed to clash against Brandon's commitment, but deep inside one pleaded for him to do as told. If he was being honest, the dark guild guys weren't easy. They nearly was able to knock him out, but he hid the pain so that no one would see. Looking back up at the tall male, his eyes were hardened now. He wasn't going to change his choices that easily.
"Yeah, I understand, our magic can get drained quickly, and we would need time to recover from the damage as well." Playing off of commonsense to try to get the nagging guilt away.
Brandon gave a small nod to that, "Indeed." With that, Brandon had said all he needed to say. He gave his hints. So- "Well, I've got more paper work to do. Riveting stuff, I know." He joked with a flat tone.
Boat nods and looks away. "Do you want me to wait here or just come back later?" He seemed to block out any way of talking him out of his plan.
Brandon hummed, "I don't know when my brother will be back, so perhaps it's best to come back later."
Boat nods and turns away. "I will be taking my leave for now." He begins to walk away.
