They began to make their way downwards, putting lights and such as they went deeper. The storm was coming, it will make the wind pick up. Something smashed into the box that contained the rope or whatever, causing Weylands line to break. He started to slide. "Someone get him!" a woman yelled out. By the time he slid by Lex she caught him at his jackets hood with her ice pick, to stop him from sliding. They reached the bottom and Lex opened a flare, looking around. As the flare went out Weyland popped one out, standing beside the two. "I don't understand. No equipment. No sign of another team." He said, looking around. "They would have to have camp set up. Nothing. My department didn't do this. Neither the other. I'm confused as you are." Rose said, adjusting her sunglasses. "Well that tunnel didn't dig itself." Lex muttered as she looked around the area. The lights came on so they could see everything better. The pyramid was massive. "Congratulations Mr. Weyland. Looks like you will be leaving your mark after all." Lex said, looking at it. The pyramid really was massive. They began to make their way up the steps and to the giant door, peeking inside. Rose didn't need a flashlight, she can see in the dark. They walked up to a wall and looked at the symbols. Egyptian, Cambodian, and Aztec. "Only the chosen may enter." Rose muttered to herself, thinking about it. That reminded her of something, but what was it? They walked down the hall and into a large room with stone slabs of some sorts, skeletons on them. "What is all this?" Weyland asked. "Looks like a sacrificial chamber." Rose said, Sebastian agreeing. "It is." He agreed. "the chosen ones would lie here. Not bound or tied in any way. They went-" Sebastian was cut off by Rose. "Willingly." She finished, receiving a nod. This was all messed up. So they just volunteer to die? Odd. Max dropped a glowstick down a shaft, bingo. Another room. After ordering some to stay Rose left with Lex and the others to go below the sacrificial chamber, which didn't take long. They walked into a room which had a sarcophagus of some sorts. "I wouldn't touch that I'm feeling bad voodoo vibes already." Rose tensed. "These are the same of the Aztec calendar. Last opened 1904 ." Sebastian said, looking to Lex and Rose. "Someone opened this 100 years ago." Lex said, glancing to Rose. "What's todays date?" he asked. "October 10th." Lex said, looking at the Sarcophagus. Sebastian moved the disks to the date, causing it to open. Everyone rushed backwards as it did so, eyeing it from afar. They slowly went up and in to see three weapons of some sorts. "Any idea what they are?" Miller asked. Everyone shrugged. Weyland started to cough and backed away to to use his inhaler or whatever he was breathing through. "We been out long enough today. We're gonna set up base camp tonight at the whaling station and get back at it first thing tomorrow." Lex said, starting to argue with Max. Rose hesitantly patted Weyland on the back. "Easy. In through your nose, out through your mouth." She instructed. "You heard her." Weyland told Max, trying to slow his breathing. They grabbed the three objects causing the sarcophagus to close, uh oh. The doors were closing. "Grr stupid humans." Rose mumbled to herself. At the stairs one opened up, weird. Screams were heard from upstairs and gunshots, which is not good. "Whatever this is we are not prepared for it. We're going to round up the rest of the team and get to the surface. Let's move!" Lex called out. Max and the others didn't move. They just unloaded their guns. "What are you doing?" Lex asked, Rose narrowing her eyes at the man. If they want to get out of here there is only one way out, the opened path at the stairs. "This bearing should take us back to the entrance and we'll regroup at the whaling station." Lex said, shining her light. "What about Thomas? Rousseau?" Sebastian asked. "Probably dead. From the way I heard it." Rose muttered to him. "We'll find them on the way up. Alive." Lex corrected Rose. Aw man. "Stone, Verheiden, Rose, cover our backs." Max called out. Rose growled. "You do not command me human." She hissed out at him, the two glaring daggers. "Rose. Gentlemen." Lex called out to them. They walked down and through a hall of some sorts. This just gets weirder and weirder. They arrived at a bigger hallway with some statues, some standing and some kneeling. Rose had a bad feeling, she can sense it. "Something doesn't feel right." She muttered to Lex as they walked. The statues of the strange creatures had the same weapons on their shoulders. That means they took their weapons. "Let's keep moving. only another 200 yards to the entrance." Lex called out. As they walked a thud was heard causing everyone to spin around, looking in every direction. "Take cover!" Max yelled out. Stone was gone, as if he poofed away. A spear came of some sorts was thrown, hitting a guy in the chest. Gunfire was everywhere, but halted soon to reload. "The pyramid's shifting again!" Sebastian called out. Oh shit. Rose caught sight of the strange creature jumping across, cloaking as he did. What the hell is going on?! The doors were closing. "Let's go!" Lex yelled out, grabbing Roses hand. They ran through a large door as everyone started to get separated and trapped. They have to get out of here. "There's no way out back there." Lex said, coming from a hallway. Sebastian's watch beeped as he looked at it. "What's that?" Rose asked, walking over to him. "Just a theory. The Aztec calendar was metric, based on multiples of 10. I'm guessing that the pyramid reconfigures every 10 minutes." Sebastian concluded, looking around. The sound of stones scraping brought everyone's attention to the now new door, peeking in. Here goes nothing. They walked through the door which led them into another hall, this one a bit smaller. Rose heard a thud and spun on her heels, to see what the noise was. Weyland had dropped the weapon, he was getting weaker. Lex was trying to convince him to leave it, but he didn't want to. At least he gave it to Lex, so she could carry it. All of a sudden gunfire and screaming were heard from Max, who was shot at. Rose ran over to see a metal net of some sorts, tightening around him. The net was indestructible. "Look out!" Max yelled. Rose spun around to see the same creature from before, charging them. Lex went to attack. "Lex no!" Rose yelled, watching her get pushed aside. Sebastian was being held up by his throat with Max having a spear through him, dead. Rose slid in front of Weyland, hissing and showing her fangs. Rose caught sight of Lex going to grab a ice pick or whatever, to use it as a weapon. She got kicked at the wall, landing on the floor. Rose ran over and slid by Lex, growling at the cloaked figure. 'That is a long blade' Rose thought as it readied to attack. It never came. Something impaled through it from behind , a pointy tail of some sorts. The tail had neon green blood on it as the cloaked creature steadily uncloaked. It was tall and had dreadlocks. The other creature with the sharp tail was black, with sharp teeth and no eyes. A second mouth came out and bit the strange creature, killing him. The other dreadlocked one charged after letting go of Sebastian, to avenge his comrade. Rose just stood there, watching them fight. If only she had popcorn. "Come on. We have to get Weyland." Lex said as she grabbed Sebastian. They grabbed Weyland and went for the open stairway, Rose running after them. They ran for a few minutes as Lex and Sebastian held Weyland up, to keep moving. "What were those things?" Sebastian asked as they moved. "You tell me. You're the pyramid expert." Lex continued as they went up the stairs. "I've got to stop. I've got to stop." Weyland said as he slowed down and collapsed on the stairs, breathing hard. Rose stood there with Sebastian as Lex tried to get Weyland to slow his breathing down, so they can keep moving. "He's sick. I can sense it." Rose rumbled to Sebastian, who nodded in agreement. The sound of footsteps caused Rose to look over at the doorway that they had went through. Another one?! Where do they keep coming from?! Rose groaned in anger as Sebastian helped Lex to try and help up Weyland, to keep running. Rose hissed as she stood there beside Sebastian, eyeing the creature. This keeps getting better and better.
