Mahir's POV:-

"Stop it Mahir, Bela is not lying" the sudden intrusion of this voice made both of us to snap our head towards the direction of our bedroom door.

It was my dad's voice.

"Dad?" I said with a shock evident voice.

"Yes, its your dad. Stop shouting at my daughter in law like that" he stated.

I was like "what?"

"You don't have any rights to hurt her with your words, son." He said it in a harsh way.

"Dad, you don't know the whole story. She is a liar and a traitor"

"What did she lie?"

Ugh. Here we go again.

"She said she was Ritu's cousin, but when I confronted Ritu's dad he said he doesn't even know who is Bela"

"I see" that's all he said.

"Now do you understand, why I was scolding her?" I asked as if I was talking to a child.

"Mahir, the thing is you didn't understand your wife well. Did you even asked who she was?" He asked me calmly.

"Dad, what are you talking about?"

"You need to here out this story before you come into a conclusion about your wife.. you see Ritu's dad Mahendra, Rajesh sharma and I were best friends those days. We went for same school and college. Mahendra had a sister who was two years younger than him and her name is Radhika. Rajesh Sharma was deeply in love with Mahendra's sister. When the members of Radhika's family came to know about their love, they got furious. Mahendra was beyond furious. He started to beat his sister into pulp. Not able to bear the pain, his Radhika and Rajesh sharma eloped." He paused.

"That makes no sense why she lied to me" I said breaking the silence.

"Will you just be calm and listen to me for god sake Mahir"

"Rajesh and Radhika eloped . They took Rajesh's widowed mother along with them. In a year they got settled in Calcutta, having a good job. Meanwhile Radhika gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and named her Bela" now I gasped, knowing that Bela's dad was my dad's friend. I saw Bela's reaction, she was sobbing.

"When Bela was four years old, Rajesh and Radhika had another baby girl and named her Saanvi. Their life was happy and content until one day a tragic accident happened."

"Their car was hit by a lorry while they were returning from a temple. Rajesh, Radhika and baby Saanvi died on spot. Daadi and Bela were saved as they were sitting on the back seat."

"I didn't knew about their accident... Had I known... I would have helped his family." His eyes let a drop of tear to fall.

"Mahendra who was blinded by rage disowned his sister when she eloped.
I came to know about this when I saw dadi at reception. As soon as I saw her I recognized her. How can I forget my best friend's mom" he paused for a moment and continued.

"She also said that Mahendra doesn't know about her sister's death. Hell he doesn't even know about Bela's birth. Then how would he know Bela"

I was dumbfounded. I couldn't even react, knowing the whole story.

"Ok. Let me leave you both alone" saying so he left the room closing the door behind.

"Bela, I-" I tried to apologise her but she just showed her hand, indicating me to stop.

She lied on the bed with her face against the pillow and started to cry. I felt like a jerk to made her cry. I couldn't stand the fact that she is crying.

I went near the bed and sat beside her. "I'm so sorry Bela, you know I have anger issues right?. I just couldn't control it when he said like that. If I had known the whole story, I would have surely not scolded you. Please don't cry Bela, it breaks my heart"

"Why do you even care? After all you think these are crocodile tears" she stated still not showing her face to me.

"I'm sorry Bela. I've said a lot of hurtful words. But I didn't mean those. I was blinded by rage, I won't do I again. Please don't cry" I said and patted her shoulder as a sign of comfort.

With all the stunts I've pulled out previously, I Know she wouldn't feel comfortable around me.

How was the update?

If you are confused then let me explain to you. All those things Mahir's dad said was true.

But all of them in the family died in the car accident. Now Ruhi and vish are acting the role of Bela and grandma from that family. Since no one knows about that accident.

Ruhi didn't change her original form as no one knew about the little girl Bela.

But vish had to change her form to Rajesh's mother as they can escape anykind of situation with this role

I hope you guys would have understood by now.

Lies after lies, is the end going to be toxic? Lets wait and watch
