Hope's POV

Standing in the middle of the Colorado airport brings a mixture of emotions – sadness, anger, happiness, nervousness, anxiousness – I don't even know how, but I feel all of those, but mostly sadness. I thought about it a lot on the plane over.

Maybe this was the right choice, I mean mum did move on with her new family

Maybe it's our turn to move on

But I can't help thinking that I just lost a part of myself. A part of my childhood, gone. My friends, my family, gone. I will always have the memories, its time to move on, right?

"Hope, earth to Hope" Amelia says

"Yeah, what it is"

"We're leaving now" as she speaks, I can't help but to notice her appearance, she looks tired and frustrated. Maybe I've been a bit too selfish, I mean I didn't even check to see what my other siblings think of all of this.

"ok, thanks" I pause, not knowing if I should continue "hey Amelia, you ok?"

She sighs "yeah I guess, I don't really care cause I got bullied a lot, so I'm kind of happy we moved, but not happy that we only get to see mum every 3 months"

"you know you could've come and talked with me about the bullying and stuff"

"I was going to the day dad told us we were moving, but you looked pissed, so I passed" she laughed a little

"Yeah, that wasn't exactly the best day" I smile remembering what I did to that boy. I had seen him in the hallway, the next day, and promised to get him back twice as bad, but of course, I didn't, but it was really funny seeing the colour drain from his face every time he saw me "but you can come and talk to me whenever, don't hesitate"

"I won't"

We quickly hug before rushing off, trying to find everyone else. We found them just before they left, I don't even think they noticed that we were missing, ugh boys. According to the instructions, my dad had left for his assistant, the car had been shipped over, and should now be somewhere in this parking lot.

"found it" Daniel yelled

We all looked at each other briefly, before racing off towards the car, trying to get the best seat, the front. Our car was a 7 seated car, but nobody liked to sit in the back.

After a 5-minute fight of who would go where. Jack got the front, cause he was the oldest, Daniel got the middle of the middle, and Amelia and I, were on either side of Daniel. The first 30 minutes of the trip were fine, we were just taking in the sites, and naming differences between the two countries, like how weird it was to be driving on the other side of the road, but once we started to drive on the highway, it felt like forever.

"Are we there yet?" Daniel asked for the millionth time

"I swear Daniel, if you ask that one more time, I will donate all your stuff and tell Santa to put you on the naughty list" Amelia says, annoyed with the whole situation. Honestly girl, same.

"I don't even believe in Santa anymore"

"What!?! How could you not, who do you think puts the presents under the tree" I say, trying to convince him to keep his childhood alive

"Parents, duh"

"Wow, ok" I give up

"Ok guys, we're here" dad announces

"Finally" Jack says

We pile out of the car to look at the house in front of us.

"Two story, 5 bedroom, 2 bathroom house, fully furnished, with a pool in the backyard. Go for your life" dad says

Without hesitation, we race up the stairs towards the house in order to get the best room. Luckily for me, I had outrun Amelia and Daniel, but Jack was still ahead, quickly going in and out of rooms. After scanning all the rooms, there was a race towards the second bedroom, that had the biggest walk-in closet, with a queen-size bed in the corner, and a desk opposite.

"You're never gonna get it, just give up" Jack yells to Daniel and I

"Just let us have the best room for once, you've always gotten the best room, in every house" Daniel says

"Yeah, why don't we just give it to me" I say, hoping it will work

"What? No, give it to me, I'm the youngest" Daniel objects

About 3 seconds later, we all came piling through the door, resulting in landing on top of each other. Jack was on the bottom, Daniel on top, with me sandwiched between the two. As I was about to say something, I was interrupted by a loud laugh coming from Amelia and dad, who were standing near the door, looking at us.

"wh-what are you guys doing" Amelia said, while still laughing

"ugh, can u get off me please" I say, ignoring Amelia's comment

We all stood up and looked at each other, knowing that we could never agree on who would get the best room, we sighed and looked at dad.

"you can have it" Jack says to dad, as Daniel and I nod in agreement

"no it's ok, one of you guys can have it" dad says

"you deserve it more than any of us"

"Are you guys sure"

"of course, it's all yours" I say

With that being said, Daniel walked out of the room with the rest of us trailing behind. Without another fight, we all settled into our new rooms. I had gotten a room with the softest carpet I've ever felt, a single bed in the corner with a tv opposite, and a closet that opened up. The bedroom suited me so well, it was the perfect size, plus it had a window that looked over the backyard.

The house wasn't huge, but it was big enough for us. All the bedrooms were on the second floor, one bathroom was on the first floor and the other on the second floor. Daniel had gotten the first bedroom, spacious but not too big – similar to the rest of the rooms – dad got the second bedroom, the best one, Jack got the third, Amelia got the fourth with the bathroom in the middle of mine and hers (order of the rooms: Daniel, dad, Jack, Amelia, bathroom, Hope).

Once I had a look around the house and checked out the pool, I made my way to the lounge room, where I had spotted the boxes full of our stuff. I grabbed my first box and went up to my room. I returned to the lounge room to get the rest of my stuff.

Time to start unpacking, I guess

With that thought, I went to my suitcase and pulled out an oversized t-shirt and some comfy shorts, that you couldn't see over my shirt. I quickly changed and put my hair into a messy bun. I pulled my Bluetooth speaker from my suitcase and connected it to my phone. I pressed play, and it immediately started playing Fade, by Lewis Capaldi.

"It ain't no wonder why we lose control,
When we're always heart attack from falling in love,
Well, I know that we've been hardly holding on,
To tell the truth, I can't believe we got this far,
Running near on empty" I sing, hoping to drown out the faint voices of Jack and Amelia fighting on where to go for dinner
