My whole body felt covered in a sticky goo and I tasted something metallic in my mouth.
I couldn't see much, but I could barely make out some trees and what looked like a deserted road.
To my surprise, I was easily able to sit up and check my surroundings. Nothing looked familiar.
I tried to jog my memory of what might've happened but I could remember nothing that would be able to explain this.
All I could remember was:
a bright light
a sharp pain in my abdominal area
and a name
Asia
I didn't know who it belonged to or how I knew it, I just kind of did.
Deciding to look around again and found some dried blood on the gravelly street. I’m guessing something big happened considering there was gasoline on the other side of the road.
Maybe a car accident?
But that still wouldn't explain why I was covered in blood and completely alone.
I didn't even know if I knew how to drive.
I lifted my shirt to see my wounds, but found none.
As in absolutely nothing.
I couldn't have possibly healed that quickly, there’s no way... that's impossible… right?
I needed to find this Asia. Maybe she can help me find out what happened.
Only issue, I had no idea where to start looking for her.
I got to my senses and checked myself for a phone. Finding one in my right pocket, i retrieved it but just my luck, the screen was cracked.
Fortunately it was still working and whether or not I could exactly see what was on the screen was probably the least of my problems.
I checked my recent messages and found that the last one was with someone called
The Benefactor
Well that’s a shitty name. I scrolled down accidentally cutting my thumb on one of the cracks. I squinted my eyes to try and put together the pieces in between shards.
Something about money being transferred?
Man… what the heck was I doing with my life?
I checked my recent calls and found five missed.
One from Violet with a voicemail.
One from Katia with a voicemail.
And finally, three from Asia.
No voicemail.
