Benjamin listened to what she had to say and leaned back in his chair, watching her thoughtfully. "I don't suppose the appeal of 'but you can see history as it unfolds and go places no human could ever see' hold much water then to you as a reason for remaining as you are? Finding love across the centuries doesn't hold any appeal to you? True, siring others is not quite the same as having children, but in many ways it can be more intimate as well."

He held up his hands to forestall any confusion. "Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to talk you out of your decision. If that's what you want, I am interested in helping you, though it may take years or even decades to find a way to reverse this. And there are those out there who would wish for us not talk walk this path. There are those who see our condition as a religious experience and would call reversing it to be blasphemy."

The older vampire shrugged his shoulders. "I personally don't care for those drawbacks. I will help you regardless. But what I do care about is you. You are a young vampire, with much left to see. I would do you a disservice if I did not atleast ask if you had considered the positives of this life. There is, I think, much I could teach you about being one of us that you've not thought of. And even if we go through with this, I might teach you anyway, to make the time between now and then more pleasant for the both of us. You starving, for example."

Velvet took in his theoretic appeals of why she could remain a vampire but none of them could even begin to shift her desperate want to be human again, he was right, they didn't hold much water to her and she doubted they ever would. She couldn't deny that finding love across centuries was a romantic ideal but romance held little difference to her when growing up all she saw was how a close relationship tended to cause more hassle than it was worth.

She stifled a laugh at the incredulousness of people seeing this as a 'religious experience', it made her amused as well as annoyed. She was suffering and attempting to relieve it but there would be those who would try to stop her, she sighed and tilted her head against the chair, having leaned back after holding her head in her hands.

''Why don't we go for a mid point?'' She put forward her idea, shuffling to the edge of her seat, looking him straight in the eyes as she spoke. ''I can see your point of view, as an older vampire you don't want to see a younger vampire squander her chance do make use of her immortality. So... if we work together to help me become human again and if this does take as long as you say it might then I can't go without blood for all that time, I will probably start to waste away. I will 'live' as a vampire to the fullest while this happens, so I can make a real, informed decision.'' She wasn't sure how to go about being a vampire to the fullest but she could understand about the diservice he felt he was doing. ''How does that sound? The best of both worlds.''

Benjamin sat and listened to her proposal and watched her reaction to what he was saying. He smiled a bit, chuckling softly. "Well, to be fair, it has little to do with you squandering your chances and more to do with me wanting to make sure you make, as you say, an informed decision. The thing I love most about being what I am is my freedom, I value it above all else. I can choose what I am, who I am, and what I will become. I just want that same chance for you. What you choose to do with it is yours, and I wouldn't interfere."

He spread his hands. "More I just worry that you haven't had the care taken in your education and your upbringing that I would have liked to see." He held up a placating hand. "Not to say your sire did anything wrong, I don't know them, but I would have liked to see a bit more... infomration in your education. You don't have to play the part to the hilt, as being a vampire means so many different things to so many different people. But during this time, I will teach you better how to survive and perhaps, if you're willing, show you some things you can keep with you. Either as you continue as a vampire or revert back to humanity."

He held his hand out to her. "If that sounds acceptable, I will take you on as if you were my own childer during this time. You're of course, unlike a childer, free to leave whenever you wish, but I would ask that you try your hardest to work with me. I try not to be unreasonable."

From the sounds of it my sire did a lot wrong, I don't even know his name, he didn't give me a choice and he subjected me to a great deal of pain before he turned me, stating: 'I apologize my dear but my old demon came to play on the surface.' He was demeaning, ruthless and tyrannical, despite claims to be different from his old self, which just seemed to be a cover. He turned me to have company while he looked for a cure. Even the way he got a hold of me was brutal and clumsy, how he hasn't been destroyed by a hunter of our kind I will never know. ''

She remembered going to a club with and look that made it seem like a living room, all hipster and guys with man buns, her body and chest exposed, the amount of alcohol making her forget about any sense of decorum, which intrigued a smart looking man’s interest.. Velvet's hands gripped the bottle, her eyes swivelling towards the back of her head in a distressed sense of a headache. She sighs as the walls become part of a fun house, changing any figure in a blink of an eye. She cleared her throat as she stood up, just to fall back down on the couch in an unbalanced attempt to walk. When she tried again she felt a pair of hands pushing her back down making her fall ungracefully, causing a source of laughter in front of her. She stood again and stagger towards the exit, gripping on bookcases and tables to the front door when she once again felt a pair of hand directing her towards another door.

‘’What? No I have to go home.’’ she struggled in vain as she protested. The hands were simply like iron, the liquor in her system making her all the more helpless to the pulling.

She shook her head firmly to shoo away the budding memories and looked at the hand offered to her and stood with a firm, if sad face. ''I don't ever want to feel that way again.'' She took his hand with her own, with a small smile. ''I think we can do this.''
