Jīvitaya is standing in the forest a week later when she hears a boom from the sky. She looks up and huffs in frustration when her view is blocked by the trees. She pushes off the ground and rises through the canopy, the wind swirling around and beneath her feet. As she turns her eyes to the sky, they widen in horror at what she sees. It appears to be the same thing that had happened when she was little, the Selemats invading, but why come to La'Vi'Ai? Then she curses to herself. Was it because she was here?
She quickly directs the winds to fly her to the palace, and she opens her magical senses to find Kysanden quickly. She finds him in the hallway just outside her room, and he catches her as she barrels into him.
"Jīa, what's going on? Why are you panicking?"
She doesn't respond, and instead she drags him to the closest courtyard and points up to the sky. His face pales instantly when he sees the Selemat ships.
"Visotutei! They must have seen my ship on Earth and followed me, I'm so sorry, Jīvitaya."
She shakes her head. "It doesn't matter how they got here, it's more important why, and even more so how we get them to leave."
He frowns. "But what if they try to take you again? You can't stay here."
Jīvitaya shakes her head again. "I'm not going to hide from them. If they are here for me and they do try to take me, I can take care of myself. I've got plenty of tricks up my sleeve."
"Like?"
Instead of physically showing him all of them, as it would take forever, she sends little snippets of actions into his head, showing him each scenario. His eyes widen.
"That's a lot."
She grins dryly. "I have been practicing, Kys."
He nods and then his face sets into stone. "Okay. But promise me, that if you have to, you will run to safety?"
"I promise. Now let's go find my parents - and Iyokú. And I want to speak to Chiarina."
"Can you call her on the way?"
"Yes." As they start walking, she calls out into the air. "Chiarina! Are you there?"
The air ripples beside them and her form appears. "Lilaria, what is it?"
"Is this what you sensed was off? Was it them coming?"
Chiarina frowns. "I think so. What do you need me to do?"
"Contact Iyokú and my parents and get them to the big courtyard by the entrance to the palace. Then watch the ships for any further activity please."
Chiarina nods. "Yes, Lilaria."
Her form shimmers as she disappears, and the pair continue towards the main courtyard. When they get there, her parents are waiting, and it only takes a few moments more for Iyokú to arrive. Her mother looks at her in concern.
"Jīvitaya, what is it?"
She sighs in frustration and points to the ships in the sky. "That doesn't bother you?"
Her mother shakes her head. "No. They could be visiting."
"I doubt it."
Her father frowns at her. "Why?"
Jīvitaya sighs and sends the three of them all the memories she had of the Selemats, beginning with the invasion from her childhood. Iyokú gasps.
"They're the ones who kidnapped you?"
"Yes."
Chiarina speaks into Jīvitaya's head, just as Jīvitaya notices a pod heading down from the largest ship.
"They're sending an envoy."
"I see it." Jīvitaya turns to Kysanden, pointing at the pod. "Is that normal?"
He squints up at the pod. "No. We don't really use pods, the entire ship normally lands when we travel."
The group walks towards the field, accompanied by the Pali, as the pod descends to the ground, and they reach the field just as the pod touches down. Jīvitaya watches as its doors step open and a small group of people exit.
