It's been maybe three days of travel on Kysanden's ship, but to Jīvitaya, it feels like it has been a week. If only for the fact that she can't, or at least isn't, allowed to move around on her own because of the Ehthiur venom. Jīvitaya is staring out of the window at all the stars and nebulas outside the ship when Kysanden comes barreling into the room. Jīvitaya starts in surprise and snaps her head towards him. He is grinning broadly and upon seeing it, Jīvitaya smiles too.
"What is it?"
He grins wider, if that is even possible. "We have arrived at Mior!"
Jīvitaya looks back out the window. "I don't see anything but space."
Kysanden laughs. "That's because you're looking out the wrong window, come on."
He turns and strides out the door and after a slight hesitation from tapping on the levik's holographic controls, Jīvitaya follows him. He leads her towards the kitchen and dining area. Kysanden waves her towards the window, but it is completely unnecessary. One glance, and she can see the big turquoise planet filling up at least a corner of the floor-to-ceiling window. She directs the levik closer and positions it as close to the planet filled corner as possible. She stares out at it in wonder before turning slightly towards Kysanden, still staring out at Mior.
"Why is it turquoise? I presume that it's water, but why is it turquoise instead of blue?"
"Mior is water-based, like Earth. In fact, it is ninety-six percent water, but the seas are much, much more shallow than those on Earth, rarely more than two hundred meters deep. The land is spread out in many islands and most are about the size of Earth's Hawaiian island chain when it is all smushed together, and most of it is similar to Earth's tropical ecosystems, so that helps contribute to the blue-green colour of the planet."
"How do you know so much about Mior?"
"I've visited this planet many times, and it is one of my favorite stops. We should be arriving on the surface within the hour."
"Thank you Kysanden."
"Kys, and you're welcome."

Kysanden was right. In less than an hour, the ship arrives upon one of Mior's many islands. While she was expecting some people to greet them, Jīvitaya was not expecting the sheer magnitude of people waiting outside the ship. All of them are chattering back and forth to each other in yet another language entirely new to Jīvitaya which, considering it's an entirely new planet, was expected. Jīvitaya taps on her wrist chip, and it projects a tiny holographic screen into the air. She taps on it for a minute before holding her hand out as the wrist chip spits out a tiny clear one into her palm before retracting the holographic screen. Jīvitaya presses it to the base of her neck, and instantly, the words begin to enter her ears sounding like her native language. When Kysanden steps out of the ship after gathering some of the things that he'll need, his eyes widen in shock at the number of people. In that moment, Jīvitaya realizes that this isn't a regular occurrence. As Kysanden regains his composure, an older woman comes running out of the crowd, moving in a full-on sprint towards the ship.
"Rebexi? What is wrong?"
"Mior is dying!"
"What? How?"
"Come with me." The woman - Rebexi - twists around and jogs back the way she came, slowing once to shout over her shoulder. "Come with me! We don't have much time!"
Kysanden and Jīvitaya rush to follow her, and Jīvitaya fiddles with the controls to increase the levik's speed. Rebexi leads them towards a squat gray building with a tall tower - or antenna - on its roof. She harries them inside, and Jīvitaya is astonished to see a large collection of transparent computers filling the walls and desks of a room that looks to take up most - if not all - of the building. There are many people rushing around between the computers and typing away on the screens.
"Rebexi, what in the name of the universe is going on?"
"Kysanden, it is much easier and quicker if I just show you." Then Rebexi turns to one of the people - Miorans? - actively using the computers. "Pull up the Saieat data, please."
Jīvitaya blinks at Kysanden, confused, and he leans towards her to whisper into her ear. "It should explain itself in a second, I think."
The Mioran swipes the screen to the left and a video fills the screen, showing a . . . sun? Why are they being shown a video of a - presumably Mior's - sun? Jīvitaya opens her mouth to question it, but there is a flash from the sun and a tendril of fire snaps out. Just moments later, there is a jolt from the ground and everyone starts floating and swaying in the air before dropping back down to the ground in a thump. It repeats thrice more before stopping. Jīvitaya moans in pain, lying on the ground. Kysanden reaches down to help her back into the Levik, taking a moment to assess her for any new venom effects before turning back to Rebexi.
"Rebexi, what just happened?"
