Chapter 36: Growing Relations

As soon as Nandini realized that her car is on the wrong side of the road, and a truck is coming from the front she turned the steering of the car to get it to the empty side of the road and pressed the brakes to their max capacity. The car took a full 360 degree turn but the truck was too near to stop the crash. The truck rammed into Nandini's car destroying it's bonnet and the front seat. Nandini jerked forward due to the force and her head hit the wheel drawing blood. "Aahhhhhh", escaped Nandini's mouth

The intensity of the hit was so high that Nandini was finding it hard to keep her eyes open. She felt a stinging sensation on the right side of her forehead. With great difficulty she moved her hand to her forehead, just where it pained, and touched that area. As she brought her fingers in front of her barely opened eyes she could find only blood on them.

Nandini was struggling badly to keep her eyes open and was failing at her attempts. She was clueless on what to do so she closed her eyes for a moment. It is said that once you are deprived of any one of your senses others start working more efficiently. Likewise as Nandini lost the sense of sight temporarily, her other sense started working better and more attentively. Owing to it she heard someone's footstep. Immediately she closed her eyes and took a long breath so that she can hold it for sometime. She pretended to be lifeless. "Oh shit! This girl was driving the car and not HIM . Damn! He escaped narrowly. Oh god! Now what am I going to tell ? ", saying this the person ran away which was convyed to Nandini by retreating footsteps.

Nandini snapped open her eyes, a fear gripping around her. This certainly wasn't an accident but something more dangerous was going on underneath it.

The road was almost empty with no passerbys at all. She was loosing blood rapidly and had to reach a hospital as soon as possible. She in half conscious state searched for her mobile. Though her eyes were closed, she was able to locate the phone. Her state didn't permit to even open her eyes but she had to call Aryaman, only he can save her. Thanks to the advancing technology Nandini meekly said, "Siri... Call Arya", in a hope that it will work. The alerting of the call was the only prominent sound around her other than her own beating heart. Click came the sound followed by, "Nandu...kaha hai tu? I am looking for you from so long? Did you find Manik? " , gathering all the strength left in her she was able to speak in a feeble tone , " Arya... Accident".

The world seemed to have seized for him. Initially he wasn't able to comprehend what she meant but listening to her voice and the intuition he was having he very well understood something was wrong. "Nandu... Kaha hua accident? What's your location? Is Manik with you? ", Nandini was hearing all but was not in a condition to reply. Again using the technology she said, "Siri send Arya my location", and a ping denoted that the message was delivered. Now she could only do one thing and that was to sit back and let the darkness and pain surround her till Aryaman arrives.

Manik on the other hand was getting very restless. He was moving across the length and breadth of his room. He just wanted to know if Nandini is safe or no. His phone rang breaking the terrible silence in the room. The caller ID gave him some peace, it said ARYAMAN. As soon as he picked up the call he was showered with questions from Aryaman. "Hold on dude, one at a time please", said Manik. Manik was not at all prepared for what was coming from his end, "Manik are you with Nandini? ", Aryaman's tone screamed panic. "No, she left for home around 50 minutes back, hasn't she reached? ", asked Manik crossing his fingers. He didn't want his intuition to be proven right. "Shitt!! ", said an agitated and scared Aryaman. "Manik i think she had an accident. She called me and was able to utter just two words Arya and accident ", panic stricken Aryaman said. The ground beneath his feet shook and the world stood still for him. A heavy emotion of grief engulfed him. "Manik? You there? ", though Manik wanted to ask many questions just a 'hmm' came out. "She has sent me her location I'm going there and probably will reach in 5 minutes and take her to the nearest hospital. I'm giving you the name reach there asap", Aryaman instructed Manik and cut the call.
