Chapter 62 : THE Day

In the outskirts of Mumbai, Harshad and his patner were giving their plan a final touch. “So Nandini Murthy is trying to fly away from Manik”, the other one said tapping his finger on the desk. Just a few moments back, their trusted spy had confirmed that Nandini has booked air ticket to somewhere for tomorrow.

“We have to stop her to make our plan successful. How will we stop her from going?”, Harshad asked. “Tch. Tch. You get worried very early Harshad. Nandini won't be able to leave Mumbai”, his partner replied. “And how are we going to do that?”, Harshad being the ever dumb asked. “Well, we are going to attack her weakness”, Harshad still didn't get it, “Her only weakness is... Manik Malhotra. We just need a deviation”, the person smirked.

“We will be needing Hades with his team for this”, she ordered someone ,“ but Hades will take only Athena's orders”, she smirked and whispered something to the person who left the room immediately to comply to the orders. Harshad still watched clueless, “Harshad you come with me. I need you too”, saying this Harshad was dragged by the person to the other room. The destruction plan was on the road to its implementation.

*The day of the concert*

The next day brought with it hopes for Manik as it was the day of the concert. He was excitedly waiting to meet Nandini after almost a week. He knew Nandini will definitely mark her presence there because more than him she was excited to see Manik perform on stage again. All the confidence that he had in him to go on the stage was given by Nandini and he was more than willing to show how well he had imbibed her words.

The scene of Manik's room can be described only in one word, that is ,“Chaotic”. There were stylists and dressers running here and there. The whole group was sprawled in different parts of the room. Abhi, Cabir and Dhruv were playing pubg on their phones whereas the girl gang was giving final touches to the arrangements of the concert. Manik was left alone in the middle of all this. He was almost done practising for his concert and was rehearsing his playlist once.

“God!! These pop up notifications”, Cabir screamed as they disturbed him while playing. “Aye chup!! Let me concentrate”, Manik screamed from the balcony shutting him. Cabir zipped his mouth and was going to remove the lastest notification when he read the headline. It was from a news app giving the hot news of the hour ' The fall of Nandini Murthy : From CEO to Nobody '.

The title was much powerful to not open it. Upon opening it, Cabir was connected to the live press conference happening at the Murthy Industries. The only ones present on stage were Aryaman and Nandini's lawyer. Cabir could sense some bad news coming their way. “Guys...guys...GUYS!!”, He screamed taking everyone's attention, “You need to see this”.

Within moments everyone including Manik was standing making a circle around Cabir. They were concentrating on each and every word that the lawyer was uttering. “...therefore, with permission and agreement of every board member and of the CEO and Director Ms. Nandini Murthy, I hereby declare Mr. Aryaman Khurana, the new CEO and Director of Murthy Industries”.

The look of dismay prevailed across their faces. That one sentence was powerful enough to overthrow every other emotion in them. “Manik, where is Nandini? Why is she not in the press conference? Do you know about this?”, Abhi shot questions after questions at him. Nobody expected this, at least not this sudden. Manik stood frozen, still contemplating on the words which were ringing in his ears.

Some similar questions were arising in Manik's mind too , “Why this sudden decision of making Aryaman the CEO? Why is Nandini not in the press conference? Why didn't she tell him all this? Is she even aware of all this? Is this Aryaman's plan?Is Aryaman doing it for money?”, among all the most prominent one was , ' Is Nandini alright?'. He replayed all his conversations with Aryaman in the last few days and the conclusion that came after analysing them was quite disturbing. From the past few days all that Aryaman has told him is , 'Nandini is unavailable' ,and now this press conference.
