Ever since (Y/F/N) (Y/L/N) broke up with Billy Hargrove, neither of them have been the same. (Y/N) turned into a big party girl while Billy turned to the bottle and watching the sunset in his car almost every night since then. No one knew why either of them decided to be the total opposites of each other. Except for Steve Harrington and his girlfriend Nancy Wheeler since they are the best friends of (Y/N).

(Y/N) slammed her locker shut and leaned against it with her eyes closed. She didn't have any motivation to be at school but Nancy had convinced her to go. More like, dragged her from her bed and forced her out of her house and to school.

(Y/N) hadn't seen Billy at school and she didn't want to. Every time she has, she's wanted to run into his arms and take him back. But she wouldn't be the one to crawl back, he would be. If he even cared enough to do that.

"Hey, ready to go to lunch?" Steve was taking her out for lunch since he's noticed she was more sad today then she usually is.

"Honestly, Steve, can't you take me home? The next three classes are going to be so boring," (Y/N) groaned as they took off to the front doors of the school.

"Nope, I need help in Biology or whatever class we have together." (Y/N) rolled her eyes in annoyance but chuckled at that. Steve could always make her smile.

"So, I heard there was a party tonight," (Y/N) said as she picked her nails. Steve, some of Steve's friends, Nancy, and her were all hanging out in the bowling alley's parking lot, looking for something to do. (Y/N) knew this because she overheard some of Billy's friends talking about it and that they basically dragged Billy to come to it. So, she wanted to know if he was bringing some girl to the party. She really just wanted to be there so that she can torture herself some more.

"Oh yeah? Where from?" Steve asked. He was concerned for his best friend. After she came to him, bawling her eyes out about Hargrove, she went crazy. She lost weight due to the excessive amounts of alcohol and weed to took. (Y/N) was constantly hungover and got into more and more trouble as the days went by since their break-up. Steve gave his best friend a look.

"Just overheard it. Doesn't matter, will you guys come with?" (Y/N) gave Steve her hopeful, puppy dog eyes. She hasn't seen Billy for awhile and wanted to see him again, even for a second. Steve rolled his eyes and pull her jacket over her head, "Yeah, dork. I am also up for some partying."

After an hour of deciding what she should wear with the help of Nancy, (Y/N) sat in the car with Steve and Nancy, staring at the house. It had kids all over it, drinking and talking loudly as music boomed from inside the house. It looked fun if (Y/N) wasn't worrying about who was or wasn't inside those walls. She wanted to wear something Billy would like but he loved all her clothes on her so she had a hard time coming up with something.

"You wanted to come," Steve chastised her. (Y/N) rolled her eyes and looked at the couple. She grew sad as she once thought that Billy and her would have worked up to that. To going out on dates and holding hands in the hallways. Or sneaking kisses between periods and writing letters to each other during classes. But she expected to much of Billy and he broke away from her. This break-up was her fault, she felt.

"Let just go so I can get black-out drunk," (Y/N) mumbled and opened the car door. Steve and Nancy looked at each other before following her out of Steve's car.

As soon as (Y/N) walked in, Billy's eyes locked with her's. Her beautiful (E/C) reminded him of why he fell in love with her in the first place. They knew what was inside of his soul and yet, they accepted him. All of him.

Billy had only came to this party so his friend's would stop harping on him to go to a party with them. All he wanted to do was steal from his stepfather's alcohol stash and watch the sun set and rise as he tries to drown out his heart-brokenness. He never thought he would see (Y/N) at some random party. He knew she started partying as a coping mechanism but this party was supposed to be on the down low, she wasn't supposed to know about it.

Billy looked away and so did (Y/N). They weren't supposed to know each other outside of class. It was hard ignoring each other when they were secretly dating, but it tore the two of them apart now that they weren't.

And for the rest of the night, that's exactly what they did. (Y/N) found a boy she could flirt with the entire night while Billy sat outside with his friends, laughing and being a dick to people with them.

Avoiding each other seemed to work for awhile until Billy went inside for some more beers. He saw that the random boy (Y/N/) was flirting with was one of his friends, Johnny. Johnny disappeared at the beginning of the party to look for some weed and Billy thought he was just strung up somewhere. But, no. He was trying to get into his girl's pants. And this made him furious.

"What the fuck bro!" Billy yelled as he shoved Johnny away from (Y/N). (Y/N) looked at Billy with wide eyes. What is he doing?! she thought.

It seemed like the party stopped and moved in slow motion as Billy went to punch Johnny. (Y/N) screamed and tried to get Billy off of Johnny as Billy had him pinned to the floor.

"No one," punch, "talks," punch, "or touches," punch, "my girl!" Billy screams in Johnny's face, trying to get his pint across to his friend that (Y/N) was his and his only.

As Johnny laid there bloody and bruised, a huffing Billy looked around the house, seeing people staring at him with wide eyes and scared faces. Even Steve Harrington, with his belt buckle and pants unbuttoned, looked scared.

When his eyes finally set on (Y/N) surprised face, he went to her and whispered, "Even if we aren't together. I will always love you and I will always be yours." And with that, he turned and stomped out of the house, leaving a confused (Y/N) behind.
