Chapter 9

Eren was awoken by Mikasa shaking him, Eren groaned and lightly pushed her hands off him. Luckily Eren didn't get any nightmares or dreams last night so he was able to sleep a little more than usual.

"Come on Eren, we have to do that damned interview thing" Mikasa huffed

That had Eren wide awake, the mind automatically filled with Erwin but the male ravanette pushed them away and sat up, rubbing his crimson eyes until Mikasa took his hands away from his eyes

"stop it, you'll rub your eyes raw" Mikasa lightly scolded, she lightly carcasses the side of Eren's unusually soft skin, Eren could feel the calluses on the female ravanette's hand "I'm glad you got some sleep"

Mikasa noticed Eren's eyes weren't as red with lack of sleep than usual so she was glad, Eren smiled lightly and gently removed her hand "I'm fine Mika but I did sleep a little better than usual"

Mikasa nodded and they both got out the old bed "you can go first" Eren said, stretching his sire muscles; that fight really took the wind out of him. He's never had to fight that hard, not even against titans but then again him Mikasa mostly ran away from those creatures instead of actually fighting them especially the advanced one.

Mikasa nodded and grabbed a clean towel and headed into the connected bathroom, they're bodies weren't covered in blood but they only wiped themselves down instead of a full-on bath since they were exasperated the night before.

Eren sat on the bed, legs crossed with while his pink lips frowned; he didn't understand himself at the moment. Eren never responded to someone like he did towards Erwin, not even when he and Mikasa were children and was still learning how to survive this cruel apparently new world.

Eren remembered when an old woman had explained emotions like love to him and Mikasa when they were traveling with that group

                                 Flashback

Eren, Mikasa, and another few children sat around an old woman with an old storybook; fairytales to be exact.

"Then they fell in love and lived happily ever after" her old and quiet yet sweet and kind voice finished the story but a certain male ravanette was confused about the ending.

'They fell in love and lived happily ever after? What does that mean? What's love? Like how mama would tell me she loved me? Or something else?"

The sweet old woman caught Eren's cute confused face "is there something wrong Eren? Are you confused about something, love?"

Eren looked up at her, unusual crimson eyes stared into pale blue almost light grey ones, the old woman always wondered why Eren's eyes were so strange but ignore it.

" What's love? Like how I loved my mama? Wouldn't that be unusual? Mama always said our love was platonic and pure, whatever that means" Eren replied, Mikasa and the rest of the kids stared at Eren in confusion; doesn't he know there's more than one type of love?

The old woman was surprised by these questions, she was now seriously worried about the little boy's past home life "well son there's more than one type of love, there are many types but the main ones are romantic or platonic"

Eren frowned again "but what's the difference?"

"Well romantic is the type of love you experience for another person like platonic but you feel as you can say, good and pleasurable from it. Platonic love is something you feel for your families like your mama or close friends, it makes you feel good but not in the same way. I guess you can say, romantic love goes with lust while platonic love goes with affection and security" the old woman explained (I'm sorry y'all but I tried 😑😑😑))
