t was a gloomy day in the Kingdom of Esparcia, perfectly matching the somber mood of its people. Everyone was mourning the loss of a great king—their king.

Samira stood beside her husband in front of the coffin as a beautiful ceremony took place. The moment made her think of her own father. King Odo was old, and she knew that one day, it would be him she'd have to say goodbye to. All she could do was hope that, when that time came, she would be by his side to see him alive one last time.

"We're only weeks away from reaching our goal," Prince Henry said as he approached from behind, keeping a respectful distance but close enough for her to hear.

Samira didn't turn to face him but slightly inclined her head. "What are you talking about?"

"Our plan," Henry replied.

"This is not the time or place. I'll come find you later, and we'll talk."

"I'll be eagerly waiting, my lady."

The ceremony ended with the royal family entering the castle, the court following closely behind.

"Philip, Samira..." the Queen called, prompting both of them to turn toward her. "Start thinking about a date for your coronation."

"Mother, is this really necessary today?" Philip asked, visibly annoyed.

"It is, son. Right now, Esparcia has no king. Do you know how weak and vulnerable that makes us look to the world—and to our enemies?" the Queen explained.

"Then why don't you pick a date?" Philip snapped, turning his back and heading toward his study.

"Philip..." the Queen called again. He stopped, taking a deep breath with his back still facing her and everyone else.

"Yes, Mother. What now?"

"You can't leave. You and Samira must step out onto the balcony and greet the people. They are waiting to see their new king and queen."

"Of course... How could I forget..." Philip muttered, rolling his eyes and sinking into a nearby chair.

"My lord, please be quick. Your brother must not see us talking," Samira said in a nervous tone as she approached Prince Henry.

"Everything will be ready two weeks from today. Meet me at the stables at midnight. My lady, please don't bring anything with you—it'll make it easier to escape if we need to."

"Understood. Thank you." Samira bowed and began to turn, but Henry stopped her by gently grasping her upper arm.

"My lady... Are you sure about this?"

"I've never been more certain of anything in my life. I'm leaving this place."

"Alright." He smiled. "See you in two weeks."
