Samira took a step forward, her voice stronger now, with purpose that reverberated through the walls of the war chamber. "I'll meet with him. I'll be the one to negotiate."

The ministers looked to Philip, waiting for his reaction. He stood there, silent, his chest heavy with a mix of anger, confusion, and something darker—fear. Samira was his heart, his strength, the one person he couldn't lose. And yet, here she was, one day trying to leave him and the other offering herself up as the key to ending the nightmare, as though it were a price he was willing to pay for the kingdom's future.

He couldn't breathe for a moment.

"Samira..." His voice was rough, cracking slightly. He stepped toward her, his words coming out in a whisper that seemed too soft for the weight of what was happening. "You can't... I can't let you go to him. You—"

Samira's eyes softened as she stepped closer, but her resolve remained. "You know I have to do this. I will do this. For you. For us." Her voice was quiet but firm, unwavering. "I won't let him destroy you. I can't sit idly by anymore. The war—this suffering—has to end. And I will be the one to end it."

She paused, her hand briefly brushing against his, the touch tender but filled with unspoken weight. "We both know I'm the only one who can get through to him."

Philip stood still for a moment, his chest tight as he absorbed her words, his heart caught between his love for her and the fear of losing her to this monstrous gamble.

The room was thick with silence after Samira's words. Ministers shifted uncomfortably, exchanging wary glances, as if they had just stepped into the heart of a battlefield where neither side was willing to retreat.

Philip, however, didn't hesitate.

"No." His voice was absolute, sharp as steel.

Her expression unreadable, but her eyes—those fierce, determined eyes—held a fire that burned right through him.

"This is not up for debate, Philip," she said, voice steady. "I will go."

Philip took a step forward, towering over her, his presence demanding. "Like hell you will." His jaw was tight, his hands clenched into fists at his sides. "You think I'll stand here and let you walk into his hands? Let him use you as some pawn in whatever twisted game he's playing?" He scoffed, shaking his head. "No. Over my dead body, Samira."

Her chin lifted, unshaken. "Then so be it."

The ministers collectively stiffened, looking anywhere but at the king and queen locked in a battle neither seemed willing to lose.

Philip exhaled sharply, running a hand through his hair in frustration before stepping even closer. His voice lowered, now laced with something dark and dangerous. "You are my wife, Samira. My queen. I will not send you into a lion's den just to appease Henry's madness. He will destroy you."

Her lips parted, a flicker of emotion breaking through her hard exterior, but she held her ground. "And what about the children he's already destroyed?" she shot back. "What about the families mourning their sons and daughters because we failed to stop him sooner?" Her voice wavered, but her resolve did not. "How many more lives need to be lost before we end this?"

Philip inhaled sharply, his chest rising and falling, his mind at war with his heart. "That is not your burden to bear."

"Yes, it is." Samira reached out, her fingers grazing his wrist—just enough to make him feel her warmth, her presence. "You know it is, Philip. If this is what it takes to end the war, to protect what we love, then I have to do this."

His eyes searched hers, desperate, pleading. "You don't have to prove anything to me."

Samira smiled, sad but knowing. "This isn't about proving anything. It's about doing what must be done."
