"Uh, sorry Anthea, but I'm too tired to do whatever-shit you're planning on doing today. I think I'm gonna eat alone, sorry."
"Oh, okay then. See ya." She waved.
I sighed in relief. Sort of. I really wanted to eat with her, but not feeding Blue because I'm with a friend wouldn't be fair. I let the small Blue out of my pocket. He seemed... Pissed, or annoyed. I can't tell.
"What's wrong Blue ?" I asked confused.
"You should watch your language human. It isn't polite !"
"O-oh. Sorry, I didn't want to, I'll be careful next time, promise."
He cheered at my apology. Apparently I'll have to prevent myself from cursing. Not like I often do that, but I'll have to behave around him.
"How about we go to buy something for lunch ? To you want anything in particular ?" I asked.
He said no with his head so I went to the cafeteria and brought two sandwiches. I guess that'll do for the both of us ? We went outside and sat. I passed him his sandwich as he sits on my laps.
"It's chilly." I groaned. "Hey, how was it before you get adopted ?"
He jumped at the question. "... Not as pleasant as being with a human, to be honest... I... I'd prefer not to return to the adoption center. If... If you're not pleased with me, you can..." His voice started to shake. "Y-you can..." I can hear him starting to sob. "You can return me to the adoption center..." He finally cried out.
I gently stroked his skull. "Aw, it's okay Blue. You're the most adorable being I've ever met, there's no way I'm abandoning you. Not after what the other humans did to you. You're safe with me Blue, You should always be aware of that." I smiled.
He turned around and hugged me. I hugged back as he cried more. I swear, if he continues to cry like that I'm gonna die. Hopefully he'll be happy soon enough.
"T-thanks hum-man !" He said through sobs.
I giggled. "You're very welcomed Blue. We should eat before I get back to class. Oh, by the way, wasn't it boring ?"
"With you petting me from time to time ? I was happy !" And there you go. "You just keep on getting cuter every time."
He giggled at the remark. I think he gets that a lot. Which isn't really surprising actually. We had the time to eat and talk a little, then the bell rang again, and I went to class. And surprisingly it was pretty fast. The school ended.
