I'm currently sat on my porch swing waiting for Saint to drop off Colton, he took him out after school like he does every week to spend time with him. Colton loves the time he gets to spend with Saint, he is pretty much the only father figure he's ever had, dating for me hasn't worked out, all the men I've dated were nice, but as soon as they found out I had a kid, they'd close up and once the date ended I hadn't heard from them again. Maybe I'm better off alone, maybe it's best just being me, Colton—and well, Michael.

Not in that way, no, I mean as much as I care for the man, and I really do care for him—going there would confuse Colton and god forbid if we didn't work out, it would break his heart, and I couldn't let that happen, no matter how much I wanted Michael.

Just then a horn beeps as Saint's car drives up my driveway. "Momma" Colton shouts excitedly getting out Saints car.

"Hey, sweet boy, did you have fun?" I ask as I step the stairs towards my son.

I look to Colton and he's not wearing his tshirt. "Why aren't you wearing your T-shirt?" I ask him.

"Oh" he grins sheepishly. "Me, Saint and Luke has a water fight, didn't we Saint?" he asks Saint as he comes up behind him.

My mouth goes dry at the sight of a topless Saint, his gorgeous sun kissed skin glistening with water droplets, holy shit...

I watch as his pecs and—two, four, six, eight pack contract as he stands there. Fuck. Me...

"Momma, moooooommmmaaa?" I hear Colton say as he taps my arm.

"Oh, sorry sweetie, did you have a good time?" I ask him.

"Did I ever" he grins. "What's for dinner, I'm starving?" He says as he runs up the stairs. "Hey, Saint, you wanna stay and have dinner with us? Can he momma, can he?"

I look to saint who is smiling at my son. "Thankyou, bud, but I—Er, I've actually got plans" he says with an awkward smile.

"Doing what?" My nosey son asks him, but secretly I'm glad he asked.

"I've gotta a date" he admits avoiding eye contact with me.

My heart aches at the thought of saint going on a date, he never dates, it's only ever sexual. This girl must be special—I don't know why I feel like I'm going to cry from this news because he's only ever followed my wishes.

"Eww, a date" Colton grimaces making Saint chuckle making me take my eyes from Saint.

"Well, er, I gotta go—I'll see you next week okay bud?" Saint says to Colton, his eyes come to me then. "Kathy" he says softly as he leaves walking back to his car unaware that my heart is breaking in two.

"Bye, Saint" Colton shouts and runs inside the house yet I'm stood at the bottom of my steps watching saint get inside his car. He salutes me as he reverses off my drive, something he's always done when he leaves but this time it's quicker like he can't wait to leave here.

Duh, Kathy— he's got a date...

I put a brave face on and smile and wave as he waves back at me before he's gone, my smiles drops as I realise that I might of lost my chance with Michael all together.

God, my chest is aching, I feel sick...

It's your own fault, Kathy, you told him you couldn't go there with him, you've made your bed, now it's time to lay in it.

Walking into the house again, I see Colton on the couch watching soccer, his legs and head jerking as the players take shots at the goal. "I'd of scored that" he grumbles making me smile.
