Chapter 12: NeeNee's Funeral

So today, is the day I get so say one last goodbye to my bestfriend.  I curled the weave she put in for me, and have on an all black short sweater dress, I grabbed my black and silver waist belt, some rose printed fish net stockings,  and a pair of steve matin suade ankle pump boots.  I have to tell myself not cry cause her mother ask me to sing a solo. But everytime I look over, All I see is pictures of us from Kindergarten, Middle school and now with kiki being in the picture. And the three of us was gonna go to prom together since kiki home school couldn't afford a prom. My mom knocked on the door.

"Patti.  you ok?"

"I guess. "

"I know its hard. I know you're thinking, why her? why so young? why my friend?  Think about it like this.. God couldnt wait.  He wanted all the angels in heaven to see a beautiful young lady. She's. now up there. with my parents, your father's bestfriend,  and eveyone special that people lost in their  lives. We. will be reunited with them once again. "

My mother kissed me on my forehead as she left me back to getting ready. Minutes later. kiki and kayron called me on three way.

  "Yo patti. "
"Hey boo."
"hey kiki, and ron ron."
"Sis listen to me I'm at Ms.Wanda house with her family and she asked you , kiki and yall parents to walk in with us as her family. The family limo is gonna be here in another half . "
"Ok bro we'll be there."
"Yeah ron . me and my pops are waitin on mom dukes. "
"oh ok kiki, and patti Invited  Rck of you dont mind."
"Listen ron ron, I dont mind at all. They were really close like actual brother and sister. And besides we may not be together,  but I still look at him as a friend. "
"true true ima let em know. "
"well patti , ask ya mom to see and call back."
"ok."

We ended the call , and I walked in my parent's room.

"Momma, daddy,  Kayron called Ka'Nia boyfriend,  hes over at Ms.Wanda house and ask can walk in with her and her family."

"Well pumpkin, you can walk in but as for your mother and I we have to leave early so I can prep for the sermon. But we can drive you to Ms. Wanda house."

"OK daddy thank you, and thank you too momma."

I texted. both kiki and kayron to tell them I'm on my way there. As I got there , her whole family was here. Ka'Nia has a real big Creole  family and there from New Orleans, Louisiana. As I said my hellos to her cousins and other siblings,  I was so shocked to see Ka'Nia's older brother Kah'Lil. I reached over an gave him a big hug, and begin to conversate with him.

"Hey brotha, you look good. "

"Wassup Choc.  I miss you babygirl. "

"How are you feeling?"

"So many emotions man. Hurt, Angry, Sad, but happy, cause freckles aint gotta go through none of this bull shit no more?"

"So if you dont mind me asking,  how they let you come home?"

"Sis its ok to ask, and I spoke to the head gaurd of the prison, and he gave me a Furlough. I go back tomorrow morning. This my traveling officer. Officer Dean. But how are you feeling though? I know this is really hard for you to deal with since the fact y'all be around eachother. "

"On some shit, I'm just still in shock . It be times that I be calling her phone, and no answers. I be asleep, and I just be dreaming about her fading away from me.  I love her Lil' . I truely love her with all my heart."

Kiki,Patrick, and Ron was walking in the house. And we all meet up together,  hugged one another, and waited until the family limo.  Once they arrived.  The limo driver asked Ms.Wanda who would she wanted to ride in with her.
