It was a normal day in the Parkinson manor. Pansy was sitting at her vanity table, combing her short, brown bob and doing light makeup consisting of foundation, concealer, highlight and a clear lip gloss. Her sister was sat up in bed, reading one of her parents' old potions books like she did every morning.

"Hey Pansy?" The forest green eyed girl spoke to her sister.

"Yeah Sylvia?" She replied, carefully blending her concealer into her foundation, not wanting any noticeable difference in colour.

"I've got two questions for you," Sylvia said, not asking a question otherwise her sister would make a sarcastic remark.

"You already did." Exactly what she meant.

"No I didn't but anyway, when do you think our letters will arrive and also why do you bother putting on so much makeup anyway? I personally prefer you without it. It gives a fake texture to your face. I only use concealer to hide the bags under my eyes," Sylvia questioned, genuinely preferring Pansy without it and plus she was too young to use so much of it. In her opinion anyway.

"In answer to your first question, probably today as it's almost the end of July and mother said that our replies were expected no later than the 31st of July. And in answer to your second question, you don't need to wear lip gloss or foundation because you have naturally clear skin and glossy lips but my face is covered in spots and my lips are dry and cracked. To be honest, I'm jealous of your beauty." Pansy confessed to her surprised sister.

"You know, the only reason I have clear skin is because I use that cream that Severus got for me on Christmas. After that, mother would buy it for me whenever I ran out. I actually have a stash of it in my drawer because she always buys two bottles instead of one. I could let you use it. When you wash your face in the 3morning put it on your flannel and leave it on while you brush your teeth. Just make sure to use a head band to keep your hair back." Severus Snape was a good companion to Sylvia, almost like a second father and he would occasionally visit during breaks at Hogwarts to teach her new potions and sometimes give her rare or expensive ingredients. But she didn't need to know the cost of them.

"Thanks, I'll use it from now on but why do I need to keep my hair back?"

"It will get in your hair and make it smell for a few days. I found out the hard way. That's why I actually used my cinnamon perfume for a while."

"I was curious why you suddenly started to use it then stop just as suddenly. Also can you tell me how you stay so skinny even though you eat more than me?"

"After breakfast, I'll show you."

Just then, their mother called them down saying she had made waffles (for Pansy) and cheesecake (for Sylvia). (If you get the reference then you are my new friend.) She also said she had something special to show them.

Pansy rushed down the stairs, leaving her sister behind in their shared room. Despite living in such a big house, the two loved each other's company so much that when they got to the age of 4 and their parents tried to separate them, they found Sylvia in Pansy's bed in the morning. They decided to just put them in the same room but Sylvia's instead because it was only half painted a deep green. This meant that they could paint the other half the silver that Pansy liked. To make everything better, they would probably end up in Slytherin.

When both of them were seated at their usual chairs next to each other at the dining table, their mother and father sat down after placing four glasses and plates down. Two glasses of pumpkin juice, one for Pansy and one for her father, a glass of orange juice, for their mother and finally a glass of iced tea for Sylvia. The plates contained, eggs, bacon and sausages for their parents, waffles with maple syrup and chopped fruits for Pansy and cheesecake with a side of berries for Sylvia.
