Sylvia's P.O.V
As I ran through the Hogwarts grounds to Dumbledore's office, people stared at me. Most likely due to the fact that I wasn't wearing their uniform. Oh well, I didn't care. I was focused on getting to my school for my Quidditch practice. If we lost, I don't think that Sam would be too happy.
The way we do Quidditch at Durmstrang was different to Hogwarts as we don't have houses. So basically, the team is made up of two year groups and the captain will be a student from the year above the eldest year on the team. For example, my team is first years and second years with a 3rd year captain. I'm the seeker for mine and the captain is Sam. That way, we have an experienced player on our team or to help us.
As soon as I walked into Dumbledore's office, I ran over to him, said thank you and rushed to the fire place saying "Durmstrang" clearly. I had the familiar feeling of being sucked of the ground and through the system all the way to Karkaroff's office. I greeted him and ran out yelling something along the lines of, "Sorry go to go Quidditch." But I wasn't too sure.
I rushed to my dorm, grabbed my kit, changed, grabbed my nimbus 2001 I got once I told my dad about getting on the team and ran to the field, just making it as Sam called out my name.
"Sylvia!"
"Here!"
"Bloody hell! You look like you've just run a marathon!" He yelled as he took in my appearance, my hair a mess, clothes slightly crumpled and my breathing was uneven.
"What do you expect? I ran from Hogwarts' courtyard, up to Dumbledore's office, from Karkaroff's office to my dorm, got changed and made it down here in under 10 minutes. Now that I say it out loud, it's rather impressive if I do say so myself." I said triumphantly. He looked gobsmacked.
"If only you had that speed on the pitch and saved that energy for practice. What were you doing at Hogwarts anyway? That's in Scotland!" he asked, now all the team players were looking at me.
"I was visiting, Professor Snape, Pansy my sister, Draco Malfoy, Blaise Zabini, Gregory Goyle and Vincent Crabbe. Oh and I ran into Ronald Weasley, Hermione Granger and Harry Potter." I said it all so casually, before reminding him that we had to practice to beat the 3rd and 4th years on Monday. I had only met the seeker for their team briefly when I was trying out as seeker. I think people called him Krum but he asked me to call him Viktor. I don't know why but I just agreed, not really caring.
We flew around the pitch a few times to get warmed up, despite me having just run god knows how far in under 10 minutes, then the chasers threw the ball around the itch as the I threw a bunch of balls at the beaters while they hit them at targets that were set up around the pitch, acting as players. After a few minutes of that, they began throwing golf balls in all directions and I had to get to them as fast as possible and catch them before they hit the ground.
Monday rolled round and before I knew it, I was up at 6 o'clock in the morning, getting dressed in my Quidditch stuff and heading down to the Great Hall to sit with the team. So far, my only friends there were the 3rd years, the 1st and 2nd year people on the Quidditch team and Krum.
We eventually made it to the pitch and Sam gave us a pep talk.
"Come on guys. I know we can do this. They may be older but that doesn't mean that we can't beat them. After all, they are older so they have more muscle so they will weigh their brooms slightly but you guys are lighter so you'll be faster than them. Plus, Sylvia has a Nimbus 2001 which is the fastest broom to date and with her on our team as seeker, she'll have no problem beating Krum." He actually had a point with the whole weight thing. They do have better brooms than most people on the team but their weight will slow them down to the same speed as our team, after all, it's a scientific fact that muscle weighs more than excess fat as the muscle is more condensed but it looks less and people assume that obese people weigh more but it's actually quite the opposite. But that's not the matter at hand.
