Isabella's POV
"They're coming," Jasper says calmly, as if we were discussing a matter like the weather. My breathing picks up and I feel myself starting to hyperventilate. Char steadies me.
"When? Why? Where?" I blurt out. Major word vomit much?
"Matter of days, less. I assume for you. To Char and Peter's house." I shake my head.
"I can't stay. They can't be in trouble because of me. I'll leave and divert them." I speak my thoughts aloud.
"Agreed." Jasper confirms over the phone. Char cuts the phone line. I sigh. She' ll be hard to convince.
"No. Absolutely not. Never happening. Forget it." I open my mouth and she cuts me off with a glare.
"See sense!" I demand. Peter looks conflicted for the safety of his mate, and his love for me as well.
"No, you see sense!" Char screams. "Your staying here and that's final!" A vase smashes against the wall and she's out. Peter sighs and we sit opposite from each other on the couches.
"Well?" I ask him.
"I'm not sure. Going against Char is the last thing I want to do...but you have a good plan." My nails dig into my palm.
"So? You with me?" I press him further. I need a definite yes. He sighs and nods. I lower my voice.
"I'll need supplies. Blood, clothes, lighter, leather gloves, sunglasses, sunscreen and hair ties." I tick them off in my head as I go along. He nods once more and disappears. Char probably went hunting. Poor human. Peter comes back, balancing a pile of everything on himself. I quickly braid my hair, put on the gloves, skip the lighter in my back pocket, blood in purse, sunscreen on face and finger tips, and clothes in my purse.
"Peter I-" my voice chokes up in emotion, my eyes watering with venom. Does that make sense?
"We'll miss you more than you could ever know. Your family." He says and pulls me in a tight hug. I return it tightly.
"Tell Char she's my sister and always will be and I'm sorry." I whisper. His hug tightens momentarily and then he lets go. I salute to him mockingly with tears in my eyes. Then, I'm out, tracking the Volturi scent.
