The Black Sheep that Sinned

By Inventedbeliever

This is the story of the black sheep.
The same black sheep that always stood out.
But not because his wool was different,
Not because his attitude was different,
Nor because he simply didn't fit in.
It was because of the way he acted,
And the way he presented his soul.
How he faced his fears and stood his ground
How he wouldn't back down on his beliefs.

That same black sheep stood alone in his flock.
For several years.
Until finally there was another.
He glanced over the top of his brothers head,
And saw her.
He galloped to the fellow black sheep.
Another outsider.
Another one of his kind
A unique
Beautiful
And kind soul,
That had been undermined
And kicked around for as long as she can remember
Her face was scratched
And bruised, and beaten.
He knew that it was the marks of the heard.

He took her hand,
And kissed her deeply.
Only to be seen by the others.
And to be shunned from the group,
Isolated from them as an outcast.
Trapped out of their lives.
Never to be spoken of again.

But in the time they had been forgotten,
They had grown and embraced the dark wool.
They loved each other with everything they had.
Until one fell ill,
And everything changed.
The woman pleaded to the heavens
Not to be killed
To stay with her true love.
And they let her live on one condition.
Once they both died,
Only she would stay in heaven.
And her mate would go to hell.
And once they passed,
Only she had sinned,
But only she had gone to heaven.
