Missing Match

By: Inventedbeliever

My match is missing!
It was everything I wanted,
everything I needed.
It was an exact replica,
perfection.
But what about the unlucky few who are lost?
Between the couch cushions,
snagged by the dryer,
and even put in a different laundry basket.
My match is missing and I don't where they've gone!
Where are you darling?
Where are you, my love?

Why, is that you my pair?
In the doggy bead where you said you'd never be?
Chewed up and ripped,
Mangled and wilted.
Is that really you?
I recognize the patterns,
The shapes and zig zags all across.
Have you any shame?
For the adventure in your soul.
Why the only soul that you're allowed,
Is the one inside the shoe we sit in.
