Sonic Chronicles

Episode 3

Sonic stood in front of the massive, 20 foot mech lizard as the sun glared over its chrome armor. 

“You will be the first one to ever witness the Egg Lizard in over a decade! You should be honored.”

“And you should be honored to be beaten by me, Sonic! Fastest thing alive and the Blue Blur! You don’t stand a chance.” Sonic said as he crossed his arms. 

“I’m going to rip that cocky attitude right out of you…along with your intestines.”

“Woah slow down on the gore factor, doctor. You could’ve just said you’d destroy me.”

“Don’t tell me what to say!”

“Awww is the baby getting upset?”

“ENOUGH! That will be the last time you ever mock me!”

“Stupid says what?” Sonic said in a low tone.

“What?! I can’t hear you!”

Sonic chuckled with a sly grin on his face.

“GAHHH! That’s it! Prepare to die!”

“Oh, I’m so scared!” Sonic said as turned around, bent over, and slapped his butt. 

“THAT’S IT!!! The Eggman Empire is the most feared military force in the whole universe! No one would dare mock it or me! And since you did, you will die a most painful death at the hands of my Egg Lizard! Enjoy your last few minutes of life!"

“You talk big, Egghead. But do you have the skills to show for it? Or is that mech’s size just for show?”

“You’ll see…” Eggman said as an evil grin appeared on his face.

The Egg Lizard went back on all fours, and charged toward Sonic who easily dodged it by shifting to the right. 

“What?!” Eggman said with a shocked expression.

The Egg Lizard charged at Sonic again. Sonic stood in its path with his arms crossed with a look of boredom. As the Egg Lizard came closer to Sonic, it retracted its five foot metallic claws. Sonic continued to stand in its path, not moving an inch. The Egg Lizard swung its claws and it went through Sonic without causing a single scratch. The claws just phased through him.

“What is this?! He should’ve been killed!”

“Yo, Egghead! I’m up here!” Sonic said as he stood atop a nearby building.

“No! You’re dead! I just killed you!”

“Obviously you didn’t if I’m still alive and kickin’, Egghead. You just hit my afterimage.”

“WHAT?!”

“What part of "fastest thing alive" don't you get? Check it. I can move so fast that I can actually leave an image of myself behind. Pretty cool, huh?” 

 “You can play all the tricks you want, but you still won’t be a match for me!”

“Really?” Sonic said as he stood atop the mechs head.

“WHAT?! HOW’D YOU GET UP THERE! YOU WERE JUST OV-”

“Fastest. Thing. Alive.”

“Grrr…DIE!!!!!!!” 

The Egg Lizard swung its tail upward, preparing to hit Sonic. With great force, the Egg Lizard’s tail swung downward but was suddenly stopped by Sonic who was holding the tail. Sonic, only using the hand he grabbed it with, crushed the tail effortlessly then pulled until half of the tail was ripped off.

“WHAT?!?!?!?”

"Look like your mech's falling apart." Sonic said with a smirk as he threw the tail away.

"I knew they were strong...but I had no idea they were this strong..." Eggman said to himself.

Sonic jumped off the mech's head and stood in front of it. 

"Why don't you just give up, Egghead?" Sonic asked while crossing his arms with a smirk on his face.

"Grrr...don't think just because you're from a warrior race means you can beat me!" Eggman said while shaking his fist.

"Warrior race? I'm not from any warrior race."

A shocked expression appeared on Eggman's face.

"What?"

"I said I'm not from a warrior race. I was born right here on Mobius."

"You don't know?"

"Know what?"

"Seems like a brief history lesson is in order. Very well. After all, you should know about your roots before I destroy you. You come from a warrior race known as the Senshis."

"Senshis?"

"Yes, the Senshis are a powerful warrior race who are said to only live for the thrill of battle. They also possess vast wealth. They've acquired this wealth by selling planets and theft."

"Hold up. Selling planets? How does someone even do that? And what do you mean theft?"

"Easy. They eradicate all life on the planet they want to sell."

"What?! Who does that?! Now I know you're lying! I'd never be a part of a race that does something as evil as that!" Sonic yelled.

"Well you are, whether you like it or not. And as for theft, a group of Senshis are sent to a planet that's wealthy with the task of forcing the inhabitants to hand over all of their money. If they don't, I've heard that they kill ten of the inhabitants for every minute they don't have it."

"What?! That's sick!"

"I realize I've given you a lot to think about. So, I'll give you some time to reflect on what I've told you...oh wait, you don't have time." Eggman said as he raised the mech's claws.

"Egghead's lying...he has to be..." Sonic thought to himself.

The claw swung down, seconds away from slashing Sonic.

"I've had enough of this. Time to put this lizard out of commission." Sonic said with a smirk.

Sonic dodged the claw then ran up the arm and stood on its shoulder. He then jumped up and turned into a spiky ball and tore the mech's arm off. 

"NO! YOU'LL PAY FOR THAT, SENSHI!"

"I'm not a Senshi! I'm a Mobian!"

"Then ask yourself this. If you're a Mobian, then why isn't there any of your kind on this planet? Why are you the only one?"

As Sonic thought about what Eggman said, he was hit with the other hand of the mech, which caused him to crash through a building. Sonic jumped up from the debris as a ball and landed back on his feet. 

"Time to scramble an Eggman!"

Sonic ran up the other arm of the mech, jumped up, turned into a spiky ball, and tore the arm off. He then jumped in front of the mech, charged up his Super Peel Out, turned into a ball, and launched himself through the middle of the mech, causing it to fall. Eggman crawled out of the wreckage and dusted himself off as Sonic stood looking at the doctor with his arms crossed while smirking.

"You won't get away with this..." Eggman said as he gave Sonic a look of hatred. 

"Sure I won't."

Eggman pressed his touchscreen and a fleet of Egg Gunners came from behind him and began firing on Sonic. Sonic, knowing there was too much fire, retreated. Eggman looked at his wrecked Egg Lizard once more before returning to his base.
