First day at the bar, never knew I would be this nervous on my very first gig considering how confident I am in my singing skills. I don't want to beat myself up over that though, this bar is humongous, no amateur singer (or whatever you call me) can perform without having that jitters.
"Our very first performer, Ellis Green! Everybody give her a round of applause!" says the host, I gave him a simple nod and proceeded on my performance,
"Glad to finally perform in front of a crowd, hope you guys know this song. I'm expecting someone today but they're not here yet. But anyway, please enjoy 'Lover'."
We could leave the Christmas lights up 'til January, this is our place, we make the rules
"Hey, I told you to hand me the mistletoe not hang it above me!" I argued, it's a simple instruction that anyone can follow, now why can't you follow it? It's literally been an hour since we decided to decorate our room with christmas stuff.
"Ellis, chill. Mistletoes are meant to be hung. Y'know, people even kiss when they're under it!" You replied with the cheeky smile I love so much.
"I know that! I wasn't born yesterday, dumbass. I just want to know why you hung it right above- Oh." And you kissed me, on our very first christmas together.
And there's a dazzling haze, a mysterious way about you, dear, have I known you twenty seconds or twenty years?
"Who's that handsome guy right there?" My friend pointed out, it's literally our first day in College and that's the first thing she said. I checked the guy and he's not all that special, he's not bad looking but he's definitely not someone who would stand out.
"Really? That's handsome to you? Oh, girl, step up your game." I said as I shook my head, I know I said that he's not as handsome as I my friend said he is but I found myself staring at him for the whole class. That's the first time I saw you.
Can I go where you go? Can we always be this close, forever and ever?
"Love, I'm only staying there for a year, it's not like I'm gonna disappear!" I argued, living in Europe has always been my dream. Now that someone offered me a job there, I don't have the heart to say no.
"Then how about me? How about us?" He begged. I knew right from the start, right when I looked at him and asked him if he's available to talk, that he's not going to agree to this idea easily. But I have to do this, my world does not revolve around him.
"Us won't be gone just because I chose me. Love, this might be more of me but that doesn't mean it's gonna be less of us. I love you and distance can't change that, can it?" I brushed his hair and rested my hand on his warm cheek.
"Okay... okay, baby." You replied, accompanied with a simple smile before you hugged me tight that I thought I'm gonna explode.
You're my, my, my, my lover
"If you can't call me even twice a week maybe we should just stop this!" I know I'm being petty, maybe it's the stress due to work or maybe the tiredness of forcing yourself into the train filled with people. But I know that it's the longing, my longing of you.
My heart's been borrowed and yours has been blue, all's well that ends well to end up with you
"Last time I checked you were the one who told me that this is going to work! This is your idea and now you're deciding this is too much for you? No, Ellis." You stated, voice calm yet sharp. I knew this is going to happen but a girl can dream and a girl can follow it.
"I'm sorry, Pierce." And I hung up. I hung up on you.
And at every table, I'll save you a seat, Lover
I finally found you, my favorite person, in the sea of the crowd, how can I not when your eyes stand out from them, it's impossible not to see, like, have you seen yourself? I was expecting only you but you came with someone else. Her hands in yours, they fit perfectly, and so I smiled. Because I'm happy, as happy as you are.
As you always do to me before, you pulled out a seat for her. Of course, you've always been a gentleman and I love that about you.
Take me out and take me home
You waved at me and mouthed that I'm doing a good job, I winked and smiled at the girl next to you and she giggled, leaning closer to you. You hugged her close and kissed her forehead, ah... what a scene to witness. I closed my eyes as I let the music fill my ears, this is a song dedicated to you, Pierce.
Darling, you're my, my, my, my Lover
I opened my eyes, vision filled with the lights in the bar, smiles from the crowd and clapping people, all I saw was you and the girl you came with, coming closer on stage, you offered your hand as I was climbing down.
Even when I reached the flat surface of the floor, you didn't let go of my hand, instead you pulled me close and kissed me full on the lips,
"Sorry, we're late. This little girl here wanted to look pretty for her mommy." You teased our daughter as you settled your hand on my waist,
"Hmp. Daddy is lying! He's the one who dolled up for you, Mommy!" She teased back as she pointed at you with a pout.
"Now, now, are you two competing over me?"
"No!" You and our daughter answered at the same time, you two little cuties.
"Absolutely not, Mommy!" Her pout deepened and she glared at you, I chuckled.
"But please give me a hug, Mommy." She whispered shyly, looking down with her fingers fidgeting.
"Oh, come here, princess." I crouched down and opened up my arms. She ran and immediately jumped into my arms.
"Hey, no fair!" You shouted as you forced yourself inbetween us.
Life can never be better than this.

I'm so sorry, this is literally a rushed story (I had 45 minutes to waste). I haven't written a story for months so forgive me! And this is my first (?) time writing in a first person point of view so it's really awkward hajahaha
