You had regained consciousness shortly after Rinmaru had taken care of the situation. You noticed you were moving, but you couldn't be walking. You looked to see the same wolf that helped you stood up was carrying you on its back. You stirred as it lowered itself allowing you to stand.

(Y/N): It seems once again You've helped me to my feet my friend. Thank you.

You smiled as you gently pet the wolf, who nuzzled your hand

Rimuru: I think she likes you.

(Y/N): Well she is a beautiful wolf.

She seemed to respond to that by nuzzling closer to you

She seemed to respond to that by nuzzling closer to you.

(Y/N): So Rimuru correct?

Rimuru: Yep

(Y/N): You're the one that my green friends call lord?

Rimuru: Yeeeeeeah I'm not a lord. At least I don't think so. It's a long story

(Y/N): I believe I understand now.

Rimuru: So what's your story?

(Y/N): My story?

Rimuru: How you ended up here?

(Y/N): Ah. Well it is a tale to be sure.

Rimuru: So you are one of those European Knights I've heard about.

(Y/N): Indeed I am. Baldwin Carreo of the Knights Hospitaller at your service.

Rimuru: Well I am glad that you came along to help. Thank you.

(Y/N): I should be the one thanking you. You saved my life and have given me cause to continue fighting.

You joined them all at the goblin village for celebration. The feasting was amazing and the people were welcoming. You also met the Dwarves and found out they were blacksmiths and craftsmen. They agreed to fix up your armor and sword.

While you were near Rinmaru as he enjoy the food more than anyone else, since it was his first time tasting in a while you couldn't help but laugh. Your wolf friend stayed by your side not wanting to leave you so you just accepted her company and rather enjoyed it. You went and joined the Ogres and the dwarves overhearing that Orc attacked their home and forces them out.

Kaijin: Wait you mean to tell me Orcs attacked Ogres? That's crazy.

Red Ogre: It's true

Kaijin: I can hardly fathom it.

Rigurd: It does seem surprising.

Gobta: Is it such a big deal?

Kaijin: Of course. Compared to Orcs, Ogres are a much stronger people. Why such a weak race would attack them in unthinkable.

(Y/N): To underestimate your opponent is to invite defeat.

They all looked at you.

(Y/N): You day that Orcs are weak compared to Ogres. Yet then not only attacked, but nearly annihilated all the Ogres, save the few we have here.

Red Ogre: What are you saying.

(Y/N): I've lived my life in the battlefield and seen more than I wanted to. The worst is what happens when someone gets desperate. When backed into a corner you don't care about the odds or consequences you just go forth, because you have everything to gain and almost nothing to lose.

Red Ogre: Regardless the attacked. The had weapons and wore armor, and their numbers filled the forest. Those detestable pigs destroyed our homes and my people.

Kaijin: Orcs wearing armor.

Red Ogre: That's right they looked like what humans wear. Full plate mail.

(Y/N): Very heavy armor. Not that popular cause the weight offsets the protection or offers.

Kaijin: That can only mean

Rigurd: The Orcs aren't working alone.

Kaijin: They wouldn't be able to get powerful armor by themselves.

Red Ogre: You would be correct. Someone was with them.

(Y/N): A masked Majin you say?

Red Ogre: It was extremely powerful. I'm certain.

(Y/N): That's explains why you went after Rimuru.

Gobta: Ok but what does all of that mean?

Rigur: It's only a guess, but it could mean that the Orcs have sided with a demon lord.

Gobta: oh yeah I-I knew that.

You flinched when you heard that.

(Y/N): So demons do exist here too.

You muttered to yourself holding your necklace tightly as you tended up.

Kaijin: A demon lord.

Rigurd: Perhaps but why side with Orcs?

(Y/N): An army.

Rigurd: Hm?

(Y/N): By taking these weak peoples and giving them the means for fighting, this Majin seeks to build an army, and by attacking those who should be superior, now shows they are serious.

Kaijin: But there's got to be more to it than that right?

Red Ogre: I don't know. But I can tell you this. Of my 300 brethren, only 6 of us managed to escape with our lives.

Rimuru: I see. So that's why you were so upset.

Red Ogre: Are you finished with your feasting Lord Rimuru?

Rimuru: I'm just taking a break.

You stood up and left though. Seeking some isolation you looked up to the sky and began to talk to God.

(Y/N): Lord, I know there is a purpose for my being here right? I have always been faithful, following your Word and Design. But still I must ask. What is my reason for being here. I am a knight who's service and dedication first and foremost is in your name. I protect the meek and am willing to give my life for honor. Is my purpose here as a protector? A warrior? Or did you send me here to rest after being on the battlefield for You?

Rimuru: That's your decision.

You turned to him surprised

(Y/N): What do you mean?

Rimuru: From what I understand of Christianity you have the freedom of choice right? I'm sure He wants you to decide for yourself what your purpose is.

(Y/N): Decide for myself? That's something I haven't done for a long time.

Rimuru: Well whatever you decide I'll support you. And I'm sure every one will.

He left and you turned back up to the sky. Then you felt your wolf friend nuzzle your hand. You let her gently and smiled.

(Y/N): I think I know what to do.
