It would seem the lizardmen that are coming are a ways out. They appear to be recruiting local goblin villages to increase their numbers. Not a bad strategy, but since these goblins haven't evolved like ours they're pretty weak. Not the best for fighting a war. However they're a ways away, Rimuru seems to be making sure his new Ogre or "Kijn" allies. Shuna the pink-haired young princess now wanting to be a tailor or silk-weaver I believe, and Shion chose to be his bodyguard and secretary, like someone who assists their lord I think.
I looked to see the two having a tug of war match using Rimuru. Lord help Rimuru right now cause these two are about to rip him in half! Later we went to the dining hall so Rimuru could try Shions cooking, but everyone else "politely" refused to eat, and after seeing what she brought I can't blame them. He was about to try the pois-food, until he forced into Gobtas mouth. Judging by the way he was violently rolling on the ground I'm sure he just witnessed heaven or hell for a moment. All I can do is pray for the poor soul that his torment would not last too long.
I decided to protect my appetite for now and get to training. I will not let my sword-arm falter. I practice the basics with multiple repetitions with a heavier wooden sword, i took a swing around and I found Stella watching me.
Baldwin: Oh, good afternoon Stella, what brings you out here?
Stella: I was curious as to what you were doing.
Baldwin: Oh I was just practicing, if you don't continuously sharpen your skills they will dull until they're useless.
Stella: Oh well I should do the same!
Baldwin: What skills do you have?
Stella: I can cast a beam of magical energy, I can return to my wolf from if necessary, and since we are partners I can communicate with you telepathically, and teleport to you through your shadow.
Baldwin: Those are most impressive!
I complemented her to which her cheeks turned pink as she looked at the ground.
Stella: T-Thank you.
I smiled as we got to practicing, until we saw Rimuru with Rigurd, Benimaru, Shion, and Hakuro.
Rimuru: Oh Baldwin! Envoy's from the Lizardmen are here.
Most curious. Stella and I followed to see what the situation was. We got there and I counted 23 Lizardmen all wearing light-looking armor and wielding spears.
Baldwin: Assembling like that usually means a show of force.
Benimaru: If they mean to attack we'll show them no mercy!
Rimuru: Hold your horses, Let's see what they want. Now which one is the envoy?
The Lizardmen began stomping their spears as they made way for another one riding... another lizard? This one wore the fancier clothes and made a more dramatic entrance than necessary. I cannot respect his showiness, but I can appreciate that his men all seems to really respect him. Obviously none of us were impressed. I could feel Shions anger as she began squeezing Rimuru to which Benimaru took him as she immensely apologized.
Rigurd: Anywho you said your name is Gabiru right? This request to serve under you seems rather sudden.
Gabiru: Seriously you haven't heard the news? We have witnessed the beginnings orc invasion the Great Forest of Jura that is why it is prudent you all fight under me! I will protect you weaklings! I...am...strong...Wow!
He took one look at all of us as his speech faltered seeing that we were clearly not weaklings. I have learned to temper my pride, but it screams out to give this overgrown reptile a piece of my mind. Then All of our tempers flared up again when he arrogantly ordered those of us to bring him the ones who tamed the dire-wolves. At this I had to hold Stella back before she tore him in two. Then Rimuru summoned Ranga to 'get his message' across. Gabiru insulted Rimuru and attempted to woo Ranga to which Ranga did not take to well. We were just about to watch a massacre when to our surprise Gobta came up to us surprisingly alive and well.
