I got onto the train, quickly followed by Ed and Al. We all sat together, me by Ed and Al alone next to us. I leaned on Ed's shoulder, really tired, and fell asleep.

"Hey Al?" Ed asked.

"Yes Brother?" Al replied.

"What did Lana act like she she first came 6 years ago?" Ed asked, and Al thought for a minute.

"Well, she was really shy, and she had this look of fear in her eyes. She was a shell of a person, Brother, and she told me a few days ago why that was." Al said, and Ed looked at him, a look of surprise on his face.

"What did she say?" Ed asked, and Al sighed lightly.

"She was raised in Ishval. Her parents were soldiers who were murdered in their own home by Ishvalan rebels. She would have been killed, but Mustang and Hughes saved her life. I think that's why she looks up to the Colonel so much. She did Human Transmutation, and was again saved by the Colonel. That may be why she was so scared of us. All her friends and other Ishvalans turned on her and her parents. Her childhood wasn't an easy one, brother." He said, and Ed looked at me, his eyes soft.

"S-She went through all that? At the age of eleven?" Ed asked, his voice quiet.

"For part of it, she was even younger." Al said, and Ed stroked my black hair.

"She has had a tough life, hasn't she Al?" Ed asked, and Al nodded in agreement as I shifted in my sleep.

I woke up to see Ed sitting by Al, my head on the ratty train seat. I sat up quickly, and Al motioned towards Ed, who was snoring, asleep. I giggled softly, and looked at the rolling hills outside. "Hey Al? Do you think I changed? Since I first met you, that is."

"Definitely. Brother thinks so too, even though he won't say it." Al said, and I smiled.

"That makes me feel happy." I said, "because before I met you two, my life sucked."

Ed had woken up, and had heard the conversation, acting like he was asleep, and he blushed lightly. I saw him do it, and tapped him on the head. "I know you're awake, Edward. No use faking it anymore." I said, and he looked up at me, glaring, but his gaze was kind.

"F-Fine! I wasn't faking it anyway! I was merely resting my eyes!" He said, and I rolled my eyes.

"Riiigghhhttt. Suuurrrreee." I said, laughing slightly as we arrived at the closest train station to Liore, which was in front of a giant desert.
