This story takes place after the events of Quickly Wear the Face of the Devil. As of now, the original characters from that storyline are not present and only mentioned through thought and dialogue. The characters are unknown to the protagonist and co. in this story except for the Lord God/Queen, which is a common name among them. The original characters are not involved with this storyline whatsoever.
For those of you who haven't read Quickly Wear the Face of the Devil, you don't need to have prior knowledge to understand this story. I'll make sure to explain enough so you can still understand the whole Lord God fiasco. But if you really want to read the web novel anyway, you can look up the title online—its translation will surely show up somewhere.

Sun Hui couldn't remember how many times he has gone through this routine. He couldn't even remember how long it has been since he's been stuck in this situation. He had lost all sense of time during his forced registration in the system.

Hui knew the drill. The plot had been a rather obvious cliché, so when his "sister" wanted to talk to him in an isolated place where no one could hear them, he knew what was about to happen. He would've known even if the plot points hadn't been distributed to him and if he didn't have to do certain missions that told him where he was pushing the plot to go.

It was too obvious what she had meant. Or perhaps it was his experience in the system. After all, wasn't this his job?

It was at times like these he wondered how things would have been different if only he had listened to his older brother.

What would Ru say if he was here now? Hui bet he probably would give him the scolding of his life and yet somehow still sound wise and insightful. His older brother truly had a way with his words, but then he supposed that's only expected from the scholar and literature fanatic.

Ah, his brother. He always got a wave of homesickness when he thought about his older brother and family. He was sixteen last time he saw his brother. How old was he now, again? Was his brother even alive? He had no idea how time worked in the system. Was it the same as from his home? Or was time slower or faster when in the system? If he managed to come back alive from all of this, would he be right where he left off or would time have passed?

These were all thoughts he visited once before. Actually, Hui hadn't experienced anything new in ages. All the plots were the same in one way or another and his thoughts were repetition. He could swear he began to lack the ability to feel as he slowly lost his freewill. He wouldn't be surprised if by the time he was finally finished with this God forsaken place he'd be diagnosed with anti-social personality disorder. In the system, life was meaningless.

Especially when—

"Bo, I know you are the reason Jin finally noticed me, and for that I'll forever be grateful. If it weren't for you making that rookie mistake, I would never have had to go and meet your boss in order to fix your mess."

"But you see, I am not blind. Even though now Jin and I are to be married (again, thanks to your help), I have seen you scheme against me. Your actions are so contradictory, but I think I understand now. You...like him, too. Don't you? That's why you have been saying all those bad things about me and were so close to Jin. It made him uncomfortable, you know. He sees you as a brother and there you were, flirting with him every time and trying to break us apart."

"..."

It is true the male lead loves you, but the thing is...

You are not the female lead.

You are the second.

And you are consumed with jealousy.

Jealousy that leads to your downfall as well as...
