A/N: This may be a little violent for some of you, fair warning.
"Where are the files you stole, Mr.Getris?" The leather jacketed man said again as he slowly put the knife into Jason's flesh.
"What Files?" Jason said, trying a bit too hard to play dumb.
"Don't play dumb, you are far too smart to do that." The man mocked.
Lazarus could hear everything, but he was preoccupied at the moment. The one he fought had a knife as well. The man threw a kick at him, which Lazarus easily doged while grabbing the leg. He twisted the leg clockwise and heard a crack or two. The man yelled in pain at his broken appendage. He took the knife a tried to stab Lazarus's hand, but he was too slow. Lazarus moved and the man ended up stabbing his leg. As the man screamed in agony, Lazarus took this time to hit him on his nose. The man staggered backwards and hit a dumpster. He fell to the ground, unable to move. Lazarus walked over to him, reeled back and threw a hard right hook into his temple. The man was out.
"Keep stabbing me you piece of scum, you can't get information from a dead man." Jason said, wheezing.
"I have to find the files, then kill you. I need you alive, or I might be able to get the information from your friend over there. But the boss said if I can take you, then I should. He has a few ways to punish you for your actions. I think that-" The interrogator did not finish his sentence. Lazarus had came from behind and hit him with a piece of metal he found. Then he too, dropped unconscious. Blood started to pool at the ground around his head. Lazarus threw the metal into the dumpster and picked up Jason. He was bleeding on his left forearm, from his broken looking nose, and a stab wound on his right chest.
"Jason, can you hear me bud? You got to talk to me bud." Lazarus said as he gently slapped his best friends face.
"I can't make it, get the files and," Jason coughed up blood before he could finish.
"No, you are going to make it, we just have to get you to a hospital, just stay with me and you will be fine, just fine." Lazarus said, trying to keep his cool. He searched for his phone, but could not find it. 'I left it at the spa.' he thought. He could see Jason drifting off in the dim light.
"No no, you have to stay with me Jason, you gotta stay with me. Don't close your eyes." Lazarus said as he found the pieces of Jason's smashed phone. He picked Jason up in a bridal position and started to get up. He could still feel Jason's blood flowing from his wounds. He got to the end of the alley and looked around. He saw a police car at the end of the street.
"Hey," Lazarus called as he tried to wave it down, "Hey! We need some help! My friend! Help!"
The car drove up to them and the officer got out of the car.
"What seems to be the problem?" The officer said as if it wasn't obvious.
"My friend and I were just attacked. I'm fine but he was stabbed and cut. I don't have my phone and his was smashed, please call an ambulance. Please!" Lazarus pleaded.
The officer went back to her squad car and called an ambulance. She grabbed a first aid kit and jogged back over.
"Here, let me." She said as Lazarus moved out of the way, hoping that the ambulance was on its way. Hoping the officer could patch up his friend, just till they got here. Hoping his friend would live.
"Are you sure you don't need anything? You feel fine?" Lazarus asked Jason. He had been in the hospital for three days. They had went to Jason's apartment, he had not been home in a while. Jason was hesitant, but they went anyways. Lazarus was about to leave for his apartment to shower and go to work, but he wanted to make sure Jason was fine.
"Yes, I am fine. Go to work. Go shower more importantly!" Jason joked.
"Are you absolutely sure?" Lazarus asked one more time
"Yes! Go home Lazarus, I'll be fine." Jason said.
"That was amazing Lazarus. Thank you so much for that experience, I feel great." Lazarus's client said. That was his last appointment for the day, which meant he could leave.
"You're welcome, come back soon!" Lazarus responded as they left. He would gather his stuff and go home. Well, he would stop by Jason's apartment complex, just to check on him and see how he is doing. Maybe he could bring by some food. He walked to the sink and washed his hands. Lazarus went to the guy employee locker room to grab his stuff. He didn't have much. Just his phone, change of clothes and his wallet. He saw Gabe, another worker come in. Gabe was Asian, tall, and quiet. Gabe looked at his phone and left. Lazarus started to strip so he could change. He had his work uniform and his street clothes. His uniform was basically v-neck navy scrubs. He put on his jeans. He looked at his shirt. It was a grey T-shirt from Old Navy. He slid it on and grabbed his jacket. The Jacket had no print on it, but rather was a charcoal grey. Lazarus grabbed his phone and wallet as he left.
Lazarus was about a block away when he got the call. He had taken a detour to Subway to get dinner for them, that was why it took him a bit longer. Then he got a call.
"Help-" Jason's voice cried from the other end as it seemed to fade. "There he-" Lazarus heard the voices of others. He knew this could not be good. "Help M-" The line was cut. Lazarus went into a full on sprint. He saw the complex and used a burst of energy he had in him. He ran to the fire escape ladders and started to go up them. Jason's apartment was on the third floor. He found Jason's window and tried to open it. It wouldn't budge. Without a second thought Lazarus kicked the window with everything he had. The window gave and he crawled in. He looked around and saw what used to be on of the neatest places he knew. Now it was ransacked, completely trashed. He saw blood on the floor. He saw Jason's new phone shattered. But most importantly, he noticed what he did not see. Well, two things. First, the file that Jason had, it was missing. Second, Jason. They took Jason. They were going to kill his best friend.
