Who saved You?

"So a man in a hood saved you from getting jumped?" Officer Fran asked with doubt in her voice.

"Yes!" Jason said.

"And he single handedly disarmed three armed suspects that had murderous intent? Is that your statement Mr.Gray?"

"Yeah." He said, still a little shook from the encounter.

"Ok, we will have a squad car take you home now Mr.Gray." Officer Fran Said, closing her notebook.

"Uh, actually, can you take me to this address?" Jason replied, knowing Lazarus was probably looking for him. It would be hard enough some mysterious silent savior came up out of nowhere, but telling him how he got this far out would be rough too. Lazarus had said that they should keep the scandals to themselves, for now. He had a different idea. If he went to the press now, they could expose them before The Union could change the records, or erase them completely. It would be best to go ahead and tell him, or it could cause problems for them. He got in the car. They rode till they got to Lazarus's building. He said thank you and went up.

"Ok, that was extremely reckless of you. Like, a crazy amount. That is how we get killed, and the information is taken back, you have to be carefull." Lazarus had been telling him that for the past hour. Both of them were stressed out by the events of that night, but Lazarus was more calm than he let on. He had been planning on doing something like this for a while. Trying to purify this city of its filth. To do that he had to be not only someone else, but something else. This rushed him into action, seeing his friend in trouble. Now though, he was in. People would not care about him till he started making a difference. This is what he knew would happen for years, that he would have to fight to save his city, not just physically either. He would have to enlist the help of one of his old friends too, but that raises the question. How many people would he let in? The more he let in, the more likely his secret will get out. Is he willing to risk innocent lives for this cause, for something that may not even work? If so, how many? He never thought himself as a violent person, avoided it when he could. These questions burned bright in his mind. His mind came back to the present. He decided that the two of them were going to go get massages tomorrow, Lazarus got a discount for it. Jason was all for it. The two of them went to bed.

"Why is he still breathing? I thought I told you to eliminate this nuisance. Or did I not? Either way I want him dead. I want my files  back. If they get leaked, then all of this is in vain! Find this nuisance and eliminate him." Quinn said, frustrated at the failed attempt of taking the worker's life. He was one of their top employees, so it was a shame he had to go. In the end he was just too good at his job. Jason Getris had to die.

"We sent some of our demons, they report a hooded figure showing up and taking all of them on and winning." Malcolm said. Malcolm was the representative for The League of Demons and his bodyguard in disguise.

"Really? A masked man cloaked by the night? That sounds too familiar. Snuff him out, just like the last one. Quinn said coldly. He had been in the game long enough to know of the first, and hopefully last, vigilante. She had not lasted longer than a month, a real annoyance.  They had stopped her and killed her when she tried to take down an operation in the heart of the city. They laid a trap for her and overwhelmed her. Quinn did not want to kill her, but she like Jason Getris was to good at what she did. This one would be no different. For all they knew this person was simply a citizen that happened to see the struggle and step in. If not, if this was some new vigilante, then it would be no different than the last time and he would watch him burn.

"I have not had a good massage in a long long time, so I know you definitely have not had one." Jason said the next morning.  "Mean you give them all the time, but you never get one for yourself huh? Do we need to shower before we go?"

"Yes, shower. I need to as well, but first I think I am going to the gym to get my daily dose of exercise. Hopefully this time I don't run into the Serpents. We can shower there." Lazarus responded, having told him about the increased activity of Serpents and Demons around the city. They concluded that they would both workout then shower and go get a much needed massage.

"Wow, the water feels great! You better come get some of it!" Jason called from the showers. They had done a two hour workout and both already felt more relaxed than earlier. Jason already was in the open showers.

"I'll be there in a second." Lazarus said as he undressed. The gym had not been very crowded in the middle of the day, not at all. They were the only guys there. The showers were connected to the main locker room. They were smaller than other showers for sure. Jason was right, it was great. The water splashed over him as he lathered up. They showered and left. Now they had a ten minute walk to the spa. Lazarus took them through a variety of shortcuts and back alleys, which halved the time. They walked inside and did not have to wait. They both were in the same room for space reasons and both requested male workers. Guys usually massaged the guys and girls with girls. The two of them undressed and got on the tables. Jason said they needed full body, which was fine by Lazarus. Lazarus felt the tension wash away as he drifted off into relaxed sleep.

"You take the one on the right, I'll take Getris. Make it look like they fell out and neither won the fight." The Demon said to the other one. They simply had to take these idiots out and then they were free for the rest of the night. They waited for the pair to walk close to their alley and pounced when the time came.

Jason felt blood flow as he felt the fist slam into his nose. They had been walking back to Jason's place and then Lazarus was going to go home but they had been grabbed and pulled into an alley. Lazarus was busy in an all out brawl with one of their assaulters, whiled this one questioned of where the hard drives were, so neither were in a good place. The one questioning him pulled out a knife and pointed it at him.                                                                                                              "Tell me where the drives are, or you and your pal over there, both die." He extended the blade and he could see it inching closer to Jason, until he could feel it's sharp edge piercing his flesh , " Now tell me, Jason Getris,  where are the drives you stole?"
