"You're more than that." Jason said. Just as he finished Lazarus looked out at the city. They had a ways to go before they would be remotely safe.

"Who I am isn't important right now, we have to get you to a hospital." Lazarus said in his fake voice, trying to remember the nearest one. He remembered there was one right outside the border. If he could get Jason there than everything would be ok. Everything had to be ok. He had put on a mask and made enemies of the League of Demons. If he didn't save Jason it would be in vain. But they were going to make it so it would be alright.

"Ok, I know there's a hospital right outside of gang territory, if I can get you there, you'll be ok." Lazarus said, not as much to Jason as more to himself."Can you walk, run, anything?"

"I'll be fine. I don't need you to carry me. I can run for a bit." Jason said, hacking.

The hospital was just a block away. They could get there quick and Jason could get the help he needed. Lazarus had thought he had heard someone following them on the roofs, but everytime he looked back there was no one. Lazarus looked at the next rough, too far to leap. They would have to get down and go by way of sidewalk. Jason started going over to the edge to find the fire escape ladders. Just as Jason was almost at the edge, Lazarus saw a foot come flying at him.  He was able to jump back right before the blow landed. The person facing him was a similar build to Lazarus. He wore a helmet with small horns, his gloves and tips of his boots had the same spike horns. This had to be one of the elite demons.  He had a spiked ball on a chain.

"You're new, mind givin' me your name, masked man?" The demon said with a russian accent.

"Yep, that's why I got the mask." Lazarus said as he pulled out his batons.

"Well, if your not gonna give me a name, then give me that little Mudock. if  your saving him then you know he is very valuable to us. Stand aside." The russian said.

"No." He responded simply.

"Ahhh. I see now. You are on of those vigilantes. You people think that one person can change the world. I remember the last one of your kind. I remember  standing over her as she breathed her last." With that, the man rushed at him, spinning his chain like he was taught to, yelling the whole time.

Lazarus rolled under him, popped up and kicked the man in his back. He stumbled forward, but did not fall.  Lazarus ducked as the man whipped around, wildly swinging his chain from around him.  Lazarus had been fighting for five minutes and did not like it. This man was not an average gang member. He had been trained for a fight like this, not just that but he had fought someone like him before. That meant he had experience, which was bad. He was definitely an elite. He swung the ball down and Lazarus couldn't move out of the way fully and had a cut on his right upper arm. Lazarus could not beat this guy with brute force. He had to outsmart him. The russian was more able at longer distance, but he wrapped the chain around his wrist and used the ball like a huge fist up close.  Lazarus's left baton was wrapped up in the chain and he was pulling him closer to himself. Lazarus thought. He was beginning to wrap his hand again. Of course! Lazarus pushed the button on his right baton. He heard the electric buzz and he put the circular, electrified tip of it onto the metal chain. The power shot through it and to the metal tips of the Russian's spiked gloves. He had not insulated them and it was obvious. His body went rigid and he dropped. Lazarus looked over to Jason who had been watching. Thankfully, Lazarus had made sure to insulate most of his suit.

"Jason, are you ok?" Lazarus asked as he rushed over to him.

"Yeah, I'm fi- watch out!" He ran in front of Lazarus and then he heard it. An unmistakable sound of death. A deafening sound this close. Gunshot.

A/N: Hmhmhmhmhm, I love this. This was fun to write, mapping it out in my head. I had been wanting to get a demon that would actually be a challenge for Lazarus. Oh and you know, cliffhanger. I am super surprised I was able to make a chapter this soon. A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one to be sure. I love this story as the plot thickens. Thanks for reading and next time: Bang. Keep Reading!
