"I'm so glad that you're here," Marsha chirped while handing me a mug of black coffee.
"Of course," I answered, "I just hope that everything is okay."
"Cal sent me a text a little bit ago that they were on there way home," Marsha informed as she sat down at the dining table.
Just minutes after our conversation the door to the house clicked open. And the voices of the Jacob men filled the house.
"It's good to you see you," Cal chatted, looking directly at me.
"Likewise," I returned.
Nate looked over at me, and a small smile pulled at his lips.
"So you going to tell us what this was all about," Marsha addressed, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Foolish teenage drama," Cal huffed. "Mrs. Perez is pressing charges because her daughter has bruises on her neck."
I stared down at my cup of coffee and replayed the events of last night over in my head. I mean what were we really thinking. There was no way that she would have been able to hide the bruises from anyone.
"It's just like that girl. Always causing drama. I'm so proud that you're with Lily now," Cal expressed as he took a seat at the table.
I looked up at Cal quickly and back over at Nate. Both of us held the same surprised gaze. I guess Cal really had grown to like me.
"Yeah, Lily is a huge upgrade," Nate replied, smiling down at me.
"You can say that again," Marsha sighed while extending both of her arms and cupping her similar mug of coffee.
"What should we have for supper? I'll go pick something up," Cal offered.
"Tacos?" Nate suggested.
"That sounds good," Marsha replied.
He really was sucking up. I smiled down at my hands that were folded in my lap. Why did I have this feeling in my chest? It was warm and comforting. I knew the Jacob family wasn't perfect. But the atmosphere was refreshing. At this moment we were acting like one big family and I was including in that fantasy. But my heart sunk when I remember that Aaron was still back at my house. And if I was being honest. I didn't trust him being alone there.

"Would you like to go home or stay the night?" Nate questioned while he loaded the dishes into the dishwasher.
I sat on the opposite countertop and rested my hand on my very full belly. There was just something about tacos and how good they were.
"I don't know," I murmured. "I want to stay. But I don't trust him."
"That is understandable," Nate responded.
"Plus. I really think space will do us some good."
The muscles on Nate's back tightened and the glass mug that was in his hand dropped to the sink. I flinched at the loud sound of the shattering glass.
"Space?" Nate repeated.
Nate turned towards me and I could see the way his jaw was clenched tightly.
"Yeah?" I questioned, tilting my head to the side slightly. Was space something that he didn't want.
"No," Nate breathed. "Go upstairs and get ready right now. And you better be undressed by the time I get to bed."
