"All cats come to the center of the camp for a special day!"

Lionstripe opened up his eyes. It had been twenty moons since the Starclan extremists took over the clans. They had killed many cats that didn't believe, and today was no different.

"Today is a special day because there is a cat that secretly didn't believe in Starclan this whole time! Please give an unpleasant welcome to Gorsetail!" A blonde-orange she-cat yowled.

A golden tom was shoved out of the crowd. Several gasps were heard. Gorsetail was a loyal cat, the tom always showed it! The tom's name was chanted by all cats except Lionstripe.

Lionstripe had known Gorsetail his whole life. He had known of Gorsetail's secret. He didn't believe in Starclan. Lionstripe couldn't do anything now. Morningstar had found out and organized an immediate execution.

Morningstar stared down at Gorsetail, though there was no regret in her green gaze. She seemed excited for the execution. Lionstripe looked at Gorsetail with regret and sorrow, which he ignored it and looked down in shame.
"Today is a very important part of our history. We will rid of one of the most secretive, most traitorous fiends in the forest. Goodbye, Gorsetail. You won't be missed."

Lionstripe watched in sorrow as the golden tom was mauled by a badger that Thunderclan had tamed many moons back when he was an apprentice, before all this started. Blood splattered and stained the grass and trees. A last, painful caterwaul escaped from his throat before it gurgled away from the blood pouring from his neck.

His mother was only the start of it all.

He knew that she had likely spoke to Morningstar from the Dark Forest. Morningstar probably thought she was a Starclan cat there to give prosperity to only Thunderclan.

A rustle in the bushes behind Lionstripe took him by mild surprise.

"Who's there?" Lionstripe demanded.

"It's just me, furball." A slim, sandy colored she cat strode towards him. "What's goin' on? I heard a Clan meeting be called. I was out hunting."

Lionstripe whispered, "They found out about Gorsetail."

Her eyes dulled and surprise was evident on her face. "N-no..." She ran to his side and stared at Gorsetail's blood splatted around the clearing.

"They used the badger Thunderclan tamed back when I was an apprentice to kill him. I'm sorry Flowerheart...There was nothing I could do. Gorsetail knew that."

"N-No! It can't be true." She wailed and ran after Gorsetail's body.

I hope you're saving a spot in Starclan for Flowerheart and I. Despite not believing. You didn't deserve this, Lionstripe grew deep in thought.

Flowerheart let out a sorrowful caterwaul and stared at her brother's dead body. "Gorsetail..." Her voice broke and faltered due to the usage of it.

Lionstripe stared sadly at the two siblings. He knew what it was like to be apart from someone close to him. Oh, Darkkit.. Will you ever come back?

Lionstripe lightly shook his head to clear his mind of Darkkit. He thought about her much of the day, but he knows she's never coming back. She ran out of the camp as a kit. How would she even survive, let alone find her way back?

Lionstripe shook his head and stared woefully at his friend's dead body.

Lionstripe shook himself from his grief. He had to protect not just himself, but Flowerheart too. They both knew of Gorsetail's secret. If the rest of Thunderclan heard of this, Morningstar would order for their immediate deaths. It was for the better they kept a low profile.
