Today has literally been the slowest day ever. I keep looking at the clock willing it to go faster so I can go on my date with Max. As excited as I am for the date, I am also nervous. So many things could go wrong. Noon. 6 more hours of waiting. I try to get some homework done while waiting but I can't focus and I keep looking at the clock on my wall. I decide to take a nap after trying to do homework for an hour and getting absolutely nothing done. I flop down on my bed and stare at the ceiling as the minutes pass. I look at the clock again. 2:38. 3 hours and 22 minutes. I look at my phone, 12 unread messages. 1 from my mom telling me she won't be home from work until 5:30. 2 from my brother asking if I want any thing from Dairy Queen, then another one saying he just got my usual and it's in the freezer. I run down and grab the blizzard and go back up to my room to finish reading through the messages. The last 9 messages are from the group conversation. I read them and roll my eyes at the texts but reply anyway.

I run and talk a quick shower. After I throw on some jeans and one of my nicer looking sweaters because it is supposed to get cold tonight. I quickly blow dry my hair and look at the clock. 5:15. 45 minutes until Max would be here. I'm starting to get really nervous as I flat iron my hair layer by layer and put on a little bit of make up. I want to look as natural as possible. 5:35. I grab my shoes and slip them on. 5:39. I rush to the bathroom and brush my teeth extra good because you never know. 5:43. I do one last check over my hair and outfit then run downstairs. 5:52. My mom and dad are in the kitchen making dinner as I grab my jacket, phone, and wallet. 6:00. The door bell rings. He's here.
